Hello Pirates, (text edited on 8. January 2017)

in 2016 I changed many things in my life. Not only breaking off old structures, I want free myself from personal "chains". Lets call my intention a "plan". The first part of this "plan" is a real business in 3D-Visualization.

The main reason behind my commercial business is not primary to making money rather to sell it "like it is", in the best quality I can make (with LODs scalable) and see the stuff hopefully used somewhere. In the past many time was burned with individual adaptation for projects or mods. After joining Pirates Ahoy! I need to change the partially same content the next time, in reason of changed requirements of quality. Although I love the seafaring theme, the repetition of overhauling the same content makes me not happy, plus my real life job exhausted me much.

The content I created and already uploaded to the FTP is strictly forced for its use in HoO. @Armada and @Pieter Boelen knows and watch over this circumstance. Short: The content is free for HoO but is licenced by me (Roman Domel, Drake´s Legacy 3D-Visualization). Every misuse (like spreading around, resale, parts integration in other assets with these commercial use or any other directly commercial use) is forbidden. I already support the Pirates Ahoy! community, please hold in mind when you work with my content!

My founded (registered) trademark is derived from my first Crysis-Mod "Drake´s Legacy". This name I use for a long time and many people remember the beginning.

Please feel free to visit my website, for more information

I have inherited the property of documentation and filled my website with all the literature I used in my projects. Although the big CryEngine tutorials doesnt had a long life for HoO, there were many working hours gone for its creation and so I overhaul all of them (with better English :D ) and give them a 2nd life.

In 2017 I´ll be back in 3D-development and looking forward to release the first of the (now perfectly) researched guns of Borgard and Armstrong. Maybe later its complete elaboration too.

See you!

Good to see you back mate, and glad to see that planning on sticking around! :cheers

Hello Pirates,

I have edited my opening text at the top of this page.

Long story short: I have finished my website and added PA! & HoO to my friendlist. Please feel free to visit my website, for more information.

Some technical information: I switched the creation method for materials to Quixel Suite and wont use longer placeholder materials.

See you!

Looks pretty good, @Wedori! :woot

Though if you'd want one suggestion, you may want to find another font for the "plain text" part.
That pure black "Arial" type font looks fairly "harsh" and "modern" to me, so doesn't fit in so well with the historical theme.
Just a thought. :doff

Also, would you mind replacing "their" with "the" in this sentence?
and the Gentlemen of Fortune mod for their more recent game, Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships.
AoP 2 isn't "our game"; it was made by seaward.ru and released by Akella. ;)

Also in this sentence:
they always warmly welcome any and all new members to our site
Glad to see you still consider PiratesAhoy! to be YOUR site as well.
And I'm not being sarcastic here either; after all, you are a part of this community! :cheers

And:
former Pirates Ahoy! members Jehremie Woods, Christian Tornholm-Lehn and Justin Howell
They aren't "former" members, are they? Two of them are still here!
One of them left the Hearts of Oak project though, same as myself.
But @Flannery is still a Project Manager on the HoO team. :yes

If Justin Howell is who I think it is, does he want his name to be displayed in public?
From what I recall, he always liked to keep that private. Maybe @Captain Murphy can confirm on that.

Thank you very much @Pieter Boelen for your reply!

Ups, a few mistakes in English are like ants in the living room. :rumgone

What font you would recommend? Times? I need a common font for compatibility.

Why I should not consider PA! on my website ;) You know, the seafaring community is not big and PA! is a great place to be. Also because of its high density of historical knowledge and friendly users. I would not split the word community in sub-departments or members with own commercial projects. I see PA! as THE community with a lot of individuals and we all are friends. All of them with their own background. So the decision of founding own projects (or what ever) I will personally rate as advantage for everyone.

A short note on Justin: To prevent any misunderstandings, I have written to all involved partners. For HoO it was Armada and for Wolf Pack Games it was Jehremie. It is important to me that persons or sites I refer to give me their OK. I doesnt write anything about anyone without to ask if they like what I am writing.
The Team behind Wolf Pack Games is officially cleared out: Team – Wolf Pack Games

Your comment about my sentence "former Pirates Ahoy! members" shows the importance of feedback about my entries. This sentence is indeed worth to change. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
I will change the relevant entries soon!

Everyone is invited to give me feedback. I am very thankful for any hints to improve my website!

I have to admit I am not the expert here, but as far as I am aware, Times New Roman, Book Antiqua, Bookman Old Style and the Lucida font family are also fairly common.
Maybe @Armada can give you better advice though.

I think you misunderstand me: I very much appreciate you mentioning us your website! :woot

What I actually meant is that this sentence seems to mix between "they" and "our", so it reads a bit weird:
"they always warmly welcome any and all new members to our site"

You might consider changing it to:
"they always warmly welcome any and all new members to their site"

Then the wording is consistent. :doff

Ah, I didn't know his name was on their own site! In that case, forget I said anything. It's all fine.

I was remembering from years back, when he did not want people on the Hearts of Oak team to know his real name.
But that was years ago; I just wanted to make sure...

I meant it rhetorical ;)

To prevent misunderstandings I forwarded my question to all of them on facebook again.

Don't use Times New Roman. Just don't. :sick

If you want a serif font that's clean and more pleasant to read, I'd recommend Georgia, which is what this site uses for main-body text.

Thanks for the recommendation! I will take a look if my tool give me an error. It's sensitive with fonts so I had chosen Arial :D
