Hi there, I recently started playing Pirates of the caribbean again, I don't use any mods or anything.

I'm just wondering about two things:

1: Is it possible to change the flags my character (Nathaniel Hawk) use on the ship? Everytime I buy a new ship, it has the French flag, is it possible to switch it to English or Dutch?

2: What kind of mods are there for POTC? Could you tell me a little about them?

1) What flag are you talking about? The one you see on your ship in 3D sailing mode?

2) There is the Build mod, which adds tons of new stuff: new islands, new locations, better gameplay, new character models, new ships and much, much more. Definitly comes recommended. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

In the Build you can fly whatever flag you like, which helps in fooling the enemy. Also if you want to change the actual texture of your personal flag, you can edit RESOURCE\Textures\flagall.tga.tx using the TX Converter (available from the modding tools page on my site) in combination with a graphics program that can edit TGA.

So I guess that's 3d sailing mode.
 
Is that the original stock game without any mods installed? Beats me why you have a French flag in that game version. Should be English. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
 
No mods, and yes it's weird that the flag is French.
But is it possible to change it without using mods?
 
Why would you want to not install the mods? The game is all the better for it in virtually every respect. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
One thing is a bit odd...
In the main quest, I am supposed to find Danielle. I get into a storm and I am stranded on Douwesen without money, so I have to apply for work at the pirate fort.

The thing is, it doesn't show up in my questlog, even though it says my questlog is updated. How come? Is it a bug?
 
Is that still in the stock game? Not sure about that; as far as I know, it should work. Go to the pirate fort and talk to the people in the tavern. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to continue the quest anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

I had the same problem in the stock game too.... Just look at quest log, quest is, just marked as complete.... I gues it's bug.... But dont shure...

EDIT: I gues it should be called "Storm At Dowesen' or something like that... I gues in the bottome of the LOG
