Few minor modifications/additions/`bug-fixes` for PotC

BTW: Expect a new PotCMods.zip version coming weekend; preferrably Saturday, including Alan Smithee's apothecary (hopefully he'll give give us working item pictures before then), some new mods by CCC and, if Petros has released it by then, the new and improved Solingen Rapier. And the first testversion of disarm mod with fists. Hopefully...
 
CCC: Oi, yes, I hate that too, waiting for the guards to trundle along and snap the braces on yer. Can you make it work the same way as those small bands of thieves and the rape encounters, that is, if you fire first they'll just attack, but if they get close enough and you do nothing, the game forces you to sheathe your sword and enter dialog mode. And yeah, I'm glad for the new options... though will subsequent smugglers always be out for my blood if I `double-cross` one band somewhere, and then set up another trade on another island?

Pieter: Crap. I always forget something. I'll upload that tomorrow. And any texture that doesn't show up, that's intentional. I've found how to make a texture invisible, I'm not sure how or why but it works, and I had to "remove" the swords and stuff from the apothecary. I tried removing the model elements themselves but it made the game crash.

Petros: Just start adding to the end of the items9 files, like with number 16 and work your way up. `items9-2` still has like five free spaces, and the rest have even more. If we come up with even more new weapons in future, well, then I'll find another places to put them (I think it's items8 that only uses three spots, and then has these three pistol images for some reason; they're never used in the game).

EDIT: Don't use them!
The conversion from tga to Tga.tx corrupted them so I took them down.
I'm now literally back to the drawing board! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />



The row spacing on those Item9s was off, especially the last row.

I'm not sure how that might affect graphics in game so I redid all of them while adding the Solingen.

I also noticed that the 9's all had an Alpha channel which I think is not needed but I left that as is.

They are up on the ftp as well as the Solingen.gm and it's texture file
bl5026.tga.tx. and instructions.

Pieter, can you handle that for me in your Mods update?

It involves changing the texture file named 75BV.tga.tx to 50BV.tga.tx.

It also involves using a hex editor on "Badv.gm" to change the texture file referenced there.

Oops, I just redid the Items9 series myself, since when I originally did them I hadn't a clue what I was doing, and in my monkeying around with multiple format conversions they lost a lot of resolution. It was the first set of pistols suffered most so I redid those. The alpha channel was probably an unnecessary mistake.

Well. I'll put `items9-2` up, for the sake of the Apothecary (it'll be in the proper subfolder in that download), and download petros' verions and try and inforporate them all.

[edit] well sonuvafu-*ahem* I am much vexed. Gotta wait till tomorrow again for those leeches and such. I mean, the mod will work without them, if you just want the taste of it (and I keep forgetting to mention, but if anyone thinks they'd want to use the Stephen Matruin skin for their character of officers, I'll whip up portraits and a tailorsmod entry), it'd just have no pictures.

Meantime I'll get Petros' addition and see about making my textures generally look nicer.

Pieter: I'm putting the one texture in its place in the apothecary download, and seperately all six textures by themselves.... I couldn't add the new solingen because the download for it is an unrecognizable file format.
 
For some reason, the file for the new Solingen Rapier doesn't have it's proper extension. If you rename it into a .zip file, it'll work.
(I took the liberty of changing that myself on the FTP <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> )

Thanks for uploading the files. I'll have them properly implemented in my next version, together with the new Solingen Rapier.
 
When you have your sword drawn and you press ENTER, you should get a menu including the potions you can use. For some reason or another, this doesn't work for me anymore. AAAGGGHHH!!! Anyone has got any clue why that might be?
Otherwise I think I've got everything working quite properly, but I haven't tested much and the "fistfighting" is still quite pathetic really.
 
Did that happen after you undid your esc key edit? The two are related in some functions. And does C still work for you for quickpotion?

Is the newest version of your Modpack available from that Milleniumdocks page mentioned on page 9 as well, or only from the piratesahoy ftp server?

And how about an update of everything that´s in it?
