I always name me ships Jezebelle, 'cuz they be givin' me so much pleasure in exchange for takin' all me loot to maintain them! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
yep, maintaining big ships, especially in the stock game, is hard work. it costs you dearly, but if you take all the possibilities you now have because of the ship, it's well worth your while.
 
i always name my ship <i>Zeewolf</i>

that is the name of the ship of a german pirate (but Dutch by birth) who lived in the late 14th and early 15th century: Klaus Störtebeker
 
I always name my ship the Van Diemen
This is because my home state was originally called Van Diemen's Land before being renamed Tasmania and I just think it sounds cool <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
Hm, standard names for me are Wrathchild for big ships (inspired from the Iron Maiden song, though I dont even know what it means exactly.. maybe someone can help me out? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />), Jester for faster war vessels, Antonio Aparicio (spanish guitar manufacturer, the corpus of my guitar always reminded me of a ship^^) for more civilian ships like galleons and I had a fourth name I tend to forget... like right now ^^
 
My normal ship names are usually Serenity for my smaller vessels, Vengeance or Retribution for the larger warships.

Australia was still "New Holland" then, apparently. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> The US was half its size at the time, and the western half was Mexican territory.

That is quite something to have. It would be quite a collectable <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
'Phalanx'; its the infantry formation Alexander the great used to great success when conquering the middle east, steppes and much of Europe. Thus, it's 'world conquering'. I just noticed someone else put this down as a fav; I'd never actually seen any other ships with this name before I saw that post so that just goes to prove how great a name it is! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

HMS 'Golden Phoenix'; Is what I always name my grade 4 and above ships in POTC, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> For me, it connotes grandeur and rebirth; it also slips off the tongue easily. I know it sounds kinda takky when used in this context, but imagine it in massive gold or black letters on the stern of a checkerboard British first rate or with a 'hms' before it. Beutiful!

For my smaller ships, 'Defiant' or 'Resiliant'. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I usually use 'Miss Fortune' for my flagship, usually a corvette or maybe a frigate. I also had a brig named 'Insane' because of battling a MoW <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
