engine.exe crashes with sea.dll

Hi guys,

I have the Russian version for Age of Pirates and managed to patch it into English version through changing the language.ini. But eveytime I enter the game, it simply skipped back to Windows when loading with an error message "ENGINE.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

When I clicked more info, it came with this
Error signature
AppName: engine.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: sea.dll

Any idea on how to resolve? I saw some Russian forum addressing the similar problem, but did not manage to understand Russian language in the end. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

2: Move patch (after downloading it) to the main folder where you installed the game

3. Run patch in the main folder ("i think its important to run it from there,!")

4. C:\Program\1C\Seadogs 3\RESOURCE\INI\texts open language.ini and change language to English
remove ";" infront of the language you want to use if english, it should look like this:

defaultLanguage = English
;defaultLanguage = russian
;defaultLanguage = french
;defaultLanguage = german
;defaultLanguage = spanish
;defaultLanguage = italian

5.If you want to fix the main menu bug just go into
RESOURCE\MODELS\MainMenu
Create a folder called English and copy the files found in the russian folder and paste them into the english one.
Menu works fine now. And its still in english as its just the models your adding in.

6. check all this and i think you could run the game, if not there is a problem with starforce copy check,
you will need to mount a mini image for the game, search google for pirates bay

7. you also need fix for quests_texts.txt [attachmentid=457]

I have tried, but didn't manage to resolve the issue.
But I have confirmed that the problem is due to my poor graphics card.

Hi everyone,its the first time that I comment here,I´m a very fan of potc(or Sea Dogs2)and have tried all of is mod,also AOP2 mods,but I want to aport a new solutions for engine crash or sea.dll crash in Laptops.

Swiftshader:very slow performance
Intelfix:Sea low detail,I like POTC sea.
VgVoodoo:When I go to worldmap,the game crash

So I decide to disable the IntelGraphics manually,in Device Manager,leaving 1 graphic card,Nvidia 950 working.AND THIS WORK¡¡
I hope answers if someone try my metode,Thanks all for make POTC alive¡¡.

Sorry to post in the wrong post

I have to mentioned,that game works with 19fps at 1280x960,but its faster than Swiftshader and whitout CTD,in my opinion.
Low framerate only on masive combats,but fast at cities and sea.Problems with shadows.I think that its a hardcore method,butworks!,and work with a Basic Display Driver,not NVIDIA graphics card.

I have tried with a VirtualBox,but have the same error all times,``The method call is invalid For example, a method's parameter may have an invalid value´´(Sad violin music)

I afraid that the best method now is Intel Fix,but there has to be a way to play POTC with all his shaders,and textures.
