Does the blacksmith kill reputation?

Hi @all,

first I would like to thank you guys for this excellent mods for POTC. A great game which you brought to real life. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

But there is one strange bug in Build 13 which kills my whole gaming experience:

When I let the blacksmith repair all my swords, there is a point after 5 or 6 repairs when my reputation drops by 20 points making me a bloody terror and killing the gameplay.

I found out that the reputation of my main char definitely drops to bloody terror, regardless of what I'm doing. At a certain time (around 70 days at sea) the rep drops by 20 and I'm out. I'm just at the start and simply can't afford pushing te rep. I don't want to be a bloody terror!

This makes no sense.

Please help me solving this problem. Otherwise I have to cancel playing the mod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

A second problem: I have no loading screens. They are just black. I use a German version of POTC.

Oh no! Don't stop playing the mod! Even if it can't get fixed (which I'm sure it can) you can just disable weapons damage or the blacksmith mod portion of the build which will still allow you to play with the rest of the Build. It can be changed in buildsettings.h. As far as the bug, I'm sure one of the modders can get it worked out.

I really hope so. It's a nice mod. As I said the rep kill doesn't seem to be blacksmith-relateted. Maybe it occurs there since I spend a lot of game time there repairing all these weapons. I tried to sail a bit instead repairing and right out of nothing my rep dropped to zero.

I stop playing now until i get info what to do. Its simply unplayable. I'm no pro an I have no idea what parameters in .ini or .h files need to be changed to fix this.

You're playing Build 13 from Pieters site?

Make sure you DL and install update2

Enable the cheats in the file...and press 7 to put your rep back.

That sudden severe drop in reputaton is usually caused by not paying a loan back to the loanshark. Not a bug if that's the case.

I think there should be an info about the cause of this drop. This might be much better than just dropping the rep without info.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I managed to install update2 by extracting all files into the POTC folder and overwriting all former files. I hope this was right. The game seems to work properly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

as long as you overwrite them in the right place. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> and as the things that come with the update are all folders that are in the main PotC directory, it's should work fine, as you probably DID put them in the right place. warning: some bugs have appeared with the update. it would be a good idea to look a bit in the the recently active topics to know what they are.

I think Update 2 should work better than Build 13.0. The only bug I KNOW to be in there was a bug with the shipberthing interface for which a fix has been found now.
