direct sail mod

thanks to the Direct Sail mod - I have a completely different perspective of the game. When I cast off to hunt for something, trade something, or whatever, I generally do something else at teh same time. Perhaps it's reading. Maybe it's drawing, painting, sewing - it's great- I can now multitask while doing it - it's a great way of combining all of the stuff that I say I would do if I wasn't playing video games, and playing video games at teh same time. What do you guys do while sailing from place to place? I have some ideas on how to spruce it up - but I'll post those later.
 
it's about the same for me, I enjoy the sound of hte wind in the rigging and watching the boat rock. I eat, I chat I research stuff on the net, I play with my degu and of course, I tend to spend hours playing my tin whistle. lately though, I've been just using sail to wich takes out 70% of the fun of the game of being out there, seeing a sail on the horizon, determining if it's worth attacking or not, then maneuvering to try to get the weather gage, but at least then if the boarding bug happens I only lose a few minutes of my time, rather than a few hours of my time wich completely takes the fun out of the game. though i intend to do some smuggling next chance I get.

It is NOT a bugfix AT ALL. It contains unstable features that we deliberately left OUT of Alpha 6! I think I will need to make a new proper Alpha update and remove the Additional files from my site to prevent confusion and to make sure people get the PROPER version of the game.

I don't think there is a proper boarding fix available yet. Guiliotto's file is basically old files that worked properly that are to return the new files to their own state. This does mean the new changes are removed again. So this is no real fix. I thought there was a fix in Maximus' files included in <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/pietersmods/others/pb_modifications.zip" target="_blank">PB Modifications</a>, but I still got the stuck-on-boardings bug in my own version of the game. It might be fixed in the unreleased Alpha update that Pirate_KK has been working on for the previous two months.
