Hi'
Well.. yes it did go in-game and looked good, but the locators were all ****ed up, caused a problem with the model dll & CTD.Probably due to mirroring some parts to get his arms & legs the right way round.
So I'm rebuilding him and not adding any new locators this time. He'll look a lot better finished and <u>should</u> work ok then,I hope.

Anyway, we'll see what happens.

I saw that Chris Roupe is working on a new Dutchman...and now a Davy Jones model, so are you mates working on a Pirates of the Caribbean(entire trilogy) quest?Or do you plan this for a future Build...15 maybe <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> ?
 
I'm not sure if Chris' Dutchman will get finished.
In any case we do have a fairly good version of the Dutchman.
I think there's a newer version available from Razor's FileFront page.

This is frustrating....first from Maya I have a good model with correct textures ,But the locators were wrong.

Now, using Maya to model >export as obj.> Open in Blender > re-apply the textures & export as vrml, I have a good model with all the locator data, But the damned textures are wrong <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

On a happier note..... I've asked Seaward.ru for a POTC skeleton rig , <u>If</u> we get one, that'd mean we just have to bind the new/reworked skins to a pre-loaded skeleton (probably not just that easy though). But that way we should end up with a full animation.

A fully functional animation, i.e. ..working forearms and hands , thats what I'm talking about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. At the moment nobody's getting it ....the hand animations of reworked models don't work.

Maybe when Inez gets some time she'll be able to get the gm exporter for Blender working for us, and the non-working hands issue will be a thing of the past. Not the best of pictures but here he is.

A little bit of work to do on the texture and he's about done. I'll try improve on this model as I learn a bit more about animation & binding but he works ingame with working hand and does now carry and use weapons properly <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I've now readded Davy's hand tentacle and finaly got a talking head model working for him:-
