Davy Jones : we got him !

oh my god, what happened to his face!? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> it looks a bit crumpled. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> however, it might be a good idea, but it's way too obvious that it's been stuck on at the moment. it definatly needs some blending in with the rest of him.
 
I think he looks pretty good, altough I'd be have'n a feeling he looks better in game than in the pic, its tuff to get a real quality screenie unless you doctor it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I think it is, yes. I don't remember if the Missing Man quest was in Alpha 5 though as well though. <b>If it wasn't, only extract the dialog and queststexts files.</b>

To Sir Christopher Mings: That also looks pretty good! You would just need somebody to do some work on the texture, but I think it's quite possible to make quite a good Davy Jones without making a complely new model. nope, it isn't in build 14a5. i'll just wait until a fixpack for build 14a6 is made then.

Looks pretty good for a first try. Definitly better than no Davy Jones. He'll go pretty well with the Flying Dutchman, which is also imperfect, but better than no Flying Dutchman as well. Has anybody tried the Dutchman in Alpha 6 yet?

To Bartolomeu: I tested the Missing Man quest and it does seem to work as long as you talk to the French officer BEFORE talking to another soldier. This is quite tricky though, because the soldiers will all try to talk to you when you get near. When a soldier talks to you, a fight starts and you can't talk to the French officer anymore.

BTW: I have rewritten all texts for your quests now and made a slight modifcation to make the Hangman use an axe. I hope they're an improvement. I attach the file to this post. I'll leave it up to Bartolomeu and Pirat_KK whether they add it into the modpack or not.

To Morgan Terror: You are convinced that Alpha 6 is terribly buggy, aren't you? For all I know it's working pretty well.

I tested the Tortuga Atmosphere mod and it seems to work fine. I also made some modifcations to it that might make it even funnier. I sent the file to Pirate_KK and it's available from a previous post I made on the forum today as well.

It is a mod Bartolomeu made that adds some fun to Tortuga. The mod is included in the filepack I uploaded a couple of days ago. Install it on top of Alpha 6 and go visit Tortuga. Talk to some characters and keep an eye open for funny things. Oh: And if you encountered an angry lady, don't exit the location straight away. There are some surprises. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

seriously, Mings that looks great. the only thing i think needs to be dont is to have the tentacles spread on his chest shrunken a bit, so that it doesn't go lower than his chest. and the pic, of course, needs to be sharper, and we need some proper eyes for him. otherwise, it's PERFECT. hat's right, a bit of touching up on the body and face [needs the face to be mirrored grom the center, so that it doesn't show the shadow. the game adds that anyway] and it's done. now all we need it a Proper Dutchman...
 
Whoops! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> I wasn't clear in my earlier post, I was just suggesting a head that I thought Kazeite and Bartolomeu o Portugues might want to use in their Davy Jones model. I just made a quick mock up so I could show them what I had in mind. It would be rude for me to make a model after the work these guys have already put into it, and I like what they did with the maimed pirate's body.
