CTD with the QC Diplomat

Just finsihed main quest. Went to QC to get the diplomat to restore British relations so I can retuen Sillehard to Redmond. Three times in a row, CTD. Reinit does not help.

Any ideas.

Well there is another diplomat,you can find him at the tavern in the Pirate Fort at Douwesen :) i hope it helps! :cheers

The Diplomat in the Dowessen pirate fort also crashed to desktop when I tired to restore my relations with England after completeing the main quest.

Jason, after you complete the main quest, and ESPECIALLY if you've captured Silehard, just go to Redmond - don't worry about your relations, you should be able to get in - and see the new governor. He'll reward you BIG MONEY for bringing Silehard back, and restore your relations with England.

If you can't sail into the harbor at Redmond, go to Rocky Shore and go on foot to the town. That should do ya... :) :cheers
 
Thanks, Cat. I wil try that. If it works that way, that would be great. I suggested that to NK a couple of months ago.

I did just that and I restored my relations with the English. However, all town guards kept on going after me and I couldn't even ask citizens to bribe the guards because of my low rep (which was the result of build 11 reputation bugs). Cheating my rep back up and then bribing town guards did the trick, though. Now everyone loves me :yes

I couldn't sail into the harbor so I went to Rocky Shore and walked to town, that went fine. Saw the Governor restored realtions got the letter of mark. etc. y the

My questions are: should fix the diplomats for this situation or send people to Redmond?

If going to Redmond, should you be able to get in the harbor withour being fired on by the fort.

If Brin "has orders from the king" shouldn't Hawk be notified to see the governor and given safe passage. I realize the rumors say something about the new governot, but it seems we might add just a little more.

What is this abput a reputation bug in the build? I can't seem to get mine up very high.

It seems that it can hit rock bottom with no reason whatsoever, and also some actions giving negative reputation are overly exaggerated, ie dropping from hero to horror of high seas by getting caught on smuggling. Stuff like that :d:
 
Heck, that happened to me and I was killing a pirate in Douwesen Harbor! Blam, one broadside and I dropped two levels! I have no idea why (no other ships around)...

I went ashore after capturing my prize and went into the jungle there and started saving maidens... After a bit, I got my rep back up to Neutral and then was able to do business...

YES, I had been smuggling, but NO, I had NOT been CAUGHT! So it's a mystery to me what happened there...
 
what if silehard escape ????????? like the pyrates in the game .....
when I have several captured pyrates ...... allmost one or too escape and I can only release the rest ..........

If he jumps overboard, then while technically Brin _should_ care, he in fact just thinks he's dead. So don't worry.

I'm sorry about the delay in releasing this fix, BTW. : PMT is a bit busy at the moment so it's on hold for a bit.

The work around I used was to land on Redmond in one of the bays and wal;k to the town. Go see Brin and all is well.
