Fixed Crashes after creating character

niels

Sailor Apprentice
My game crashed for the second time after I finished creating my character.
1st time Malcolm talked to me, after his second line the game crashed, 2th time finisht creating character immediately a crash.
Note: No error log for the second crash though.

Update: third time no crashes seems like there's no pattern in it.

Did you erase the file named "options" from your main game folder and clear out your SAVE menu?

Code:
RUNTIME ERROR - file: sound\alias.c; line: 32
Invalid function call
RUNTIME ERROR - file: sound\alias.c; line: 32
function 'Alias_Init' stack error
^ I've seen that error before. It happens when you change any sound settings before starting a new game.
Doesn't actually seem to do any harm though.

I DLed this version and started a new game. I did not delete the options file but in the game I did delete the old profile. The game has worked fine with no bad saves so far out of 3 saves. I can not really tell any difference between this version and the 18 Oct version outside of no floating characters and the stock POTC grass.

@Pieter Boelen Everytime a new update comes I delete the old save games, delete the options file, and then start a new game. So yeah i guess.
Which storyline are you starting? Standard one? I just tried that myself and I can't replicate it on my end.
Also checked the Installer EXE and it results in a game version equal to my own, so that shouldn't be the problem either.

There are two things you can try:
1. Make a clean install of the game and modpack to ensure there aren't any left-overs from troublesome previous versions
2. ZIP up your PROGRAM and RESOURCE\INI folders and post them here so I can check if they ARE indeed identical to my own.
You may have to split the PROGRAM one into several parts; putting the Storyline folder in another ZIP should work.
