I have compared initItems.c from open sea mod with the one from beta2-2.
23 differences:
4 made by me for Cartagena puzzle (in beta2-2)
19 made by ?, islands coordinates (in open sea mode)

So, I guess open sea mod should be 'updated' to beta2-2 status.
(The initItems.c files have to be merged, not a big thing)
Could be more files, I don't know. Must be checked.

Wait, I still do recieve sailing points for simply sailing, but they are extremely rare. I think I recieved 3 percents in 7 ingame months. I do play with Open Seas installed.

Looking for teachers in port is the best way to get better at sailing. Also, certain items and books are a great help.

EDIT: There was one other file that had your sig in it that was different. So I merged them and added them to the installer. I renamed it to Open Sea V0.2.2 to denote beta 2.2 and it is in my Dropbox folder. I played a short while and nothing odd happened.
