Commadore64 and Amiga version

How come the "Commadore 64" and 'Amiga" versions worked and the "XP" version
doesnt.?

There is SOMETHING WRONG , SOMEPLACE!!

These things should work, OUT OF THE BOX!!

At the very most, it shouldnt take more than a patch download.

Is this a plot to destroy the pc games industry? If, so, then the effort is certainly suceeding since:

1]. Nobody that has had these problems: would buy a computer game as a gift for
any kid under the age of 60.

2] When a game addict, like myself, decides that they willl never NEVER ever buy another PC game.

I am going to attempt some of these "fixes" as an "adventure in computerland", since Im having trouble finding the sales slip[ think it got mixed up with the groceries]

My sugestion for a "fix" : Next time you see a pc game; buy the sucker; rip the cellaphane off; maybe tear the packaging up and then go right back in the store and return it. If these done by each of each of us, five or six times a month; maybe somebody will "get the message"

I wellcome replies.

It would help if you told us what part failed and how it bombed.

I have read one post where a person could not get it running.
Turns out he had the DVD version and it would not read in his CD drive.
No problem with the game after he inserted it into the correct drive.

I did get it underway[after clicking on a whole lot of important looking , and yes it is a GREAT GAME......so far.

Well, back then games had to work because there was no internet over which to send patches, neither were there game magazines with cds/dvds that need filling (well, the chronological order is the other way around, first the magazines, then the ´net). And because the games needed a LOT less code (there has to be a reason why they fitted on one floppy disk back then) or different system specifications. The curse of technological evolution...
