sorry chaps i thought i posted this somewhere before if i have and you replied then apologies again i lost my post <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> !!!!!! so here i go again , when a ship strikes its colours why can i not board her to take the goodies , any ideas anybody <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
For all I know, you shouldbe able to board her, unless she originally was from a nation you are friendly to. I think... Not sure though... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Aaah thats it you see i am sneaking up on the odd neutral ship to take her as a prize and once i fire a broadside and i am not close enough to board she strikes her colours and i cant get aboard <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Maybe your ship is a lower rank.
For example, a lugger cannot board a battleship <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I thought you could board any ship, as long as you're close enough and have a high enough boarding level. Ah; well. I never <i>did</i> try to board a battleship with a lugger, so you might indeed be right.
 
I recall you can only only board a surrendered ship if it was at war with you before surrendering. So you can't board neutral or friendly surrendered ships.
