CoAS Combined Mod Version

Patch 1 and Patch 1.5 by default appear to install to a subfolder, which doesn't work right.
Check if there's any additional folders in your main game folder.

Nope. When i extracted them i opened the files in winrar, went into the sub foulders and extracted only the directories within that sub foulder.

The only out of place directory in the game was named cm which was where i originally installed the mod pack, but it was empty, since i copied all files from within taht foulder into the main COAS directory.

There should really be some proper install instructions as to where what goes, like in the build mod ^^;

Especially since the dafault installer foulder is set to "C:\program files\ City of abandoned ships combined mod" with no explanation that you should point it to your COAS directory. Hence why i originally installed it to "COAS/CM"

No idea what i did wrong the first time, but all seems working now. Only needed a full reinstall.

If you want i can write out the install instructions for the mod pack.

Yes, there should be! If you want to write it up, please do.
Hopefully somebody will make a better installer at some point also.

Ask and you shall recieve!

CMv3.1.5 Complete Installer
This self-extracting exe contains all changes made to COAS contained in every release of the CM up-to-date

It is easy as downloading the file, placing the .exe in your Playlogic/Age Of Pirates 2 main folder and extracting. Overwrite all files when asked.

Happy Pirating!
cmv3.1.5 Complete Installer
(NOTE: The file is supposed to be 574mb, so there is no need to be concerned with the small size)

With my current installation of the modpack, I just did a boarding of some small British ship.
After killing all enemies on the first boarding deck, I couldn't continue to the next deck.
How are you supposed to continue? I know how it is in PotC, but it might be different in CoAS.
If not, it would appear I got stuck.

The same happened to me on my first boarding with the first AoP.
I haven't played that game ever since.

I just did a WinMerge check to see if the new all-in-one installer installs correctly
and I'm glad to report that there's no major differences and it should work as well as the seperate-file-install.
Good job on zipping then, because it sure saves a lot of space! :woot

Some differences I did find:
- officer_3, officer_4, officer_6, officer_15 and officer_16.gm are different and older than the ones in my previous game version
- sailorspoints file Corvette_quest1.ini is different and older than the one in my previous game version
- The SoleyRu1 GM files are different and older than the ones in my previous game version
- Textures\Cann3.tga.tx is different and older than the one in my previous game version
- Textures\Interfaces\Ships\brig.tga.tx different and older than the one in my previous game version

I don't know why I have these differences, but they seem fairly harmless.

There's also some slight modifications that weren't included that I do have in my game:
- Books mod
- Loyalty mod
- Starting location dependent on nation code as posted a couple of posts above
- Rename to Cannoneer to Chief Gunner

I know these were released later or excluded on purpose, but they do seem content that should go in whatever is released next. :yes

aw hell ya! Those will be going in the next release. We still have a ways to go before we are ready for another release.

Well guess that kinda makes me throw away the idea for writing up install instructions for the entire process + patching, since you made a new installer for 3.1.5

can you still provide a manual version for future releases? just makes it easier if i want to mod/go back to vanilla with JSGME

You can always extract the self-extracting EXE to a subfolder instead of your main game folder. :shrug

Hi,
suggestion, why don't you guys write a couples of paragraphs along with the mod 3, patch 1 and patch 1.5
1. how to install
2. what's in it
Thx

I was gonna do number 1, but then fire bat came out with an installer for the latest version. And for that all you need to do is install to your COAS directory and wolla. Its done.

I can still do it if you want but itll be mostly guessing based on the V3.1.0 installer since i lack enough free HD space to see if anything was changed for the 3.1.5 installer ^^;

3.1.5 installer is real simple: extract it to your main game folder, letting it overwrite all files.

:gday Pieter,

I didn't play the Coas Modpack, but with stock game after defeat the last enemy you just need to press the action button. No icon is show like in POTC.

So, if it doesn't work is for a Modpack bug.

:keith bye, bye,
giuliootto

"Action" button? That's the spacebar, is it? Or one of the mouse buttons perhaps?
Hmm... I'll have a look. Thanks in any case. :doff
