can't hide the hud

the f9 button doens't work here
is there a way to change the button or to fix this?

You should be able to change in the in-game control options. If not I don't know.

Open in Notepad and search for "F9"; change accordingly to another key.

What if you flip F1 (main menu) and F9 in the controls file?
Reset controls to default, start a new game and see if F1 makes the HUD disappear and F9 makes the main menu appear.

couldn't even find it so i swapped it with quicksave
