Build 14 Alpha 9

Yes, the only thing left is that sometimes I don't get the image with the save. I am playing two games on two computers and one set of saves has the graphics and one doesn't. Now that is truly wierd.
 
Apparently that happens occasionally for some people. I haven't seen it, but Hook has.
I recall he said that the images come back if you reboot the computer.

It appears that musket fire can work both ways. The message is not in error.

i cant unpack patch 4, every time i add the line to wich it should install, i get a new screen that has the default line and only a close button, no way to change that line and when i hit close nothing happens
 
Ahoy!

A couple of potential probelms in Patch 4.

The merchant on Cayman wont show you his cargo goods. The personal items work fine but when you say you want to sell some goods the second screen goes to back to the stroe you don't get the trading interface.

Also baording my be broken. You the get a CTD when you go off the first deck or you go to the captain's cabin, no other deck and you can't get out.

Hm... the line in InternalSettings.h should be

...rather than 0.6667 so that it matches the current calculations closer, but it doesn't matter that much. It's intended that the player set this amount to his liking.

Uh... shouldn't. Check where your progress.tga.tx is; should be in RESOURCE\Textures\Loading and not the \English subfolder.
 
The installation instructions have been updated with the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/b14_alpha9_patch4_fix.exe" target="_blank">Small Fix</a>.
This includes the InternalSettings.h fix and shadow and COL files for Eleuthera by Screwface. Will all be included in a proper Patch in next weekend. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
FYI Merchant also broken on Cuba,

And smuggler sent me to error there as well, but smuggling worked on Cayman

I went through the code. Pirate_KK added code so that the enemy can do musket fire on you as well. The message is correct. The code should work as is, although the morale changes aren't implemented and if you're the target your ship defense perks and defense skill does not include anything from your officers, only from the player character.

I'm working on fixes for both.

Upon further study of the code, I determined that it is possible that the reported message can be wrong. I'm fixing it in the next version.

To Jason: All merchants will be broken until applying Hook's fix, which is now included in the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/b14_alpha9_patch4_fix.exe" target="_blank">Small Fix</a> download. Should work afterwards.
As for smuggling, I suppose we'll need to look into that.

This appeared to work when I tested. It could be that things go haywire if you already HAD run the RunMe.bat file after installing Alpha.
Like you would've had if you were using one of the previous versions before. I'll look into this for Patch 5. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
I found 2 bugs in the patch 4 + fix:
- You can not buy anything in store (rum, food, etc.)
-After having talked to Davy Jones, the game crashes
