the quests from a governor can be gotten any time. the bonus from having a letter of marque is that you will get land awarded at a certain point which brings in some cash each day. just sink the enemies of that nation and the relation should increase.

the pirate corvette is the one you need.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
You were correct; the pirate corvette did the trick. Apparently the dialog/quest log are wrong telling me to sink an English corvette, and it didn't update after I captured the pirate corvette, so assumed it was unrelated.

In other news, I have a couple more problems.

1. CTD when sleeping in a tavern twice, even if I leave the tavern and re-enter it, game crashes.

2. For some reason corpses are no longer remaining for me to loot; instead, they disappear upon death and auto-looted. No clue why this happened since originally it played as I wanted it (setting 4, corpses are lootable, don't hinder movement, corpses remain after looted), but I did the F11, F12 business after turning WEAPONSMOD on.

3. Guns for all characters are still reset each time I load a new area; not even the NPC enemies fire guns at me, probably also waiting for their guns to load. Guns are made worthless now.

I think I will reinstall everything and see if these problems persist. I'll let ya'll know.

By the way, I have been installing as followings, all Builds from Pieter's website:

1. PoTC
2. Build 12 Full
3. Build 13 Full
4. Build 14 Alpha 6
5. Build 14 Alpha 6 Additional
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I would suggest you to set WEAPONSMOD = 1 to avoid reload weapon on change location (it's a but introducing with Build14A6 and still not fix <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> ).

I would suggest to set corpemode = 2 because corpse mode=4 can cause stuck boarding problem.

Also I would suggest to set REAL_CANNON = 1 and Autoskill = 1 with this setting the ammount of CTD is really decrease of 10/1.

I've installed:
1) POTC
2) Build 13 Full
3) Build 13U3
4) Build 14A3
5) Build 14A4
6) build 14A5
7) Build 14A6
<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> pb_modifications
9) B14_A7_giuliootto_fix
10) Santiago Quest

(I think that Build 14A3, A4, A5 are not necessary but I like prefer add every think)

And I pleased to say that I didn't encounter any problem or CTD after 10 hours of game play.

Hi guys,

I've found a rather debilitating bug, it happens randomly when boarding surrendered ships and I've encountered it when doing the lost children quest in Isla Meurta. The characters I need to talk to/kill have no health! But they still walk about, whenever I try to talk to them it asks whether I'm hamlet and I end up stuck. It kills quick travel, and when I'm boarding a ship I just get stuck there, I've downloaded the boarding fix in the hope that it would help but nothing.

Thanks in advance

It is a bug - see Bugs & Things Thread in this section. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
I believe their is also a "fix"

Hope that helps.

Hmm I had a read through and the closest I got to news of a fix was that Catalina did one some time ago but there isn't a new one for 14/6. I don't suppose anyone knows of anyway at all to mod it, even vague advice might help me sort it out.

Ta guys

have you also tried doing it through the 'return' menu? that sometimes makes a difference.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Do you mean as in the quick menu? That gets completely disabled, I just get a cross and all the other sections either in town or on a ship are locked.

well, sort of. i mean the menu before that one where you can select fast travel and all the other stuff. there, you should see an 'open' icon with two arrows on it. try that one. it's the same one you get when near a chest.

Yeah that only comes up with a cross, and nothing else <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

if you didn't already do, I suggest to set corpsemode=2 and reload the last good save and try again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

i don't really see hwat that might have to do with no options in the return menu, but it's certainly worth a try. it would at least likely solve the looting problem.

Ran into two bugs today.

1. I captured a pirate ship, captain surrendered and I threw him in the brig. Later I go to the cargo hold and he's not there, and when I go to F2 and view both character and passenger screens his portraits are gone (but you can click on the empty space to see his stats). Reload savegame.

2. Similar scenario of capturing a captain, but this time he is in the cargo hold. Bad stats, so I feed him to the sharks, but he still shows up in F2 as a prisoner. I go back to cargo hold and he is still there, but once I attempt to talk the game CTD.

Anyone else run into these?

I'm afraid that didn't work either, I can kill them, even though they're dead apparently,

Template dialog: can't start dialog, DialogMain return false!
Template <follow> -> timeout chr.id = Mystery_Man_02
Template <follow> -> teleport chr.id = Mystery_Man_02 to pos(13.069, 8.8218e-004, 4.6964)

I ran an error log, I'm pretty sure this is where the problem is, I get three guys, all called "the late the late" all with no health but can be killed, they can be looted with Corpse setting of 2.

I hope thats of some help to anyone trying to work there way out of this.

Oh, thanks for reminding me that. I wanted to fix it in next update and forgot - now I have to do it quickly.

The bug is caused because quest utilizes "Mystery_Man_*" characters many times, and current modpack version makes difference when character was previously killed. Thats the reason for that strange effect. I think that adding more separate "Mystery men" instead of that three should do.

That was my thoughts on it as well, I was having a looksie through the files and there were only three mystery men, utilised time and time again, I'd try and do something about it but reading through the code is like reading a map drawn in wet mud.

On another low note, I was doing the Raoul Reims quest and I found another "late late" guy just after I asked the innkeeper on Concecao about Raoul.

Template dialog: can't start dialog, DialogMain return false!
LAi_type_actor_EndDialog -> LAi_type_actor_Reset

Looks like the same kind of problem

i know what causes that. you changed your ship (by selling it, for instance) while there was a prisoner in the cargo hold. the prisoner should now technically be on the other ship. the only way to get rid of him now is to use him as an officer (you can, even without hireing him. i tried) and then send him on a kamikaze-mission, like pick a fight in a fort from the land-side with him with you. you could of course keep him as an officer all the same.

Sadly, that can't be the reason because I didn't sell my precious Black Pearl. I captured the captain, sank his ship, docked at a port, finished my business there, then fast traveled to the cargo hold. Shrug. I've only seen this happen once, but I rarely capture captains as I typically make then officers or execute them when they surrender.

I've played for a few hours since without any problems after changing some settings as suggested here and using the boarding fix files. Some variety to governor missions would be nice though; all sink ship missions just outside of port.

Perhaps Maximus' CheckSecondCharacter in MAXIMUS_functions.c fix for the double Remy Gatien character causes trouble in case of INTENTIONAL use of two characters. If so, we should remove that fix again and instead just change one of the Remy's to something else. There's no real reason why they should be named the same, let alone have the actual same character ID.

Alright, I accepted a mission to ship cargo from Santo Domingo to Oxbay, but Oxbay is controlled by France and the store lacks the option to complete the shipment. I don't have a savegame prior to accepting the mission, so I'm stuck with mission unable to complete it and no one else will give me a trade mission until I finish it apparently. Any solution to this? How can I end the mission? Or am I screwed?
