This is this sail plan, scaled to the DMC screenshot. As you can see, it appears to be wee too big <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I don't know whatever posessed this fella to enlarge his masts so much. Surely he's not compensating for anything, is he? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->


This is Bonjourmonami, and I am not compensating for anything, so I made a mistake, the main and fore mast's middle sail's a little big, it is reasonably accurate, besides this is the old picture used in the comparison, in the DMC screen the sails are set down to the below yard arm

I just see one.

It should run from the top of the Mizzen to just below the Main topgallant.
 
okay, but it's going to be a lot of work. firstly, there's the bracelines. ropes running from the tips of the yards to either the mast or the yards behind it. i think it's the mast, but sometimes, they're attached to the yards of the mast behind it to make it possible to brace them all at once. i'm not very sure about this. i've also seen both applied occasionally, but i have no idea how that would work.

lifts and halliards. ropes running from the ends of the yards upwards. the only difference between a lift and a halliard is that a halliard is used to raise an entire yard, while a lift is fixed.

counterlifts. ropes running from the ends of the yards downwards to the ends of the yards below them. in case of the main yards, they're attached to the hull.

there's a backstay running from the main topgallant to the mizzen topmast. that's missing on the drawing and visible on the photo.

buntlines. i doubt it's possible to add them, although maybe in the texture, but these are ropes dangling from the sails, approxamately in the middle, which is used to clew up the sails. a bit like straps on a tent's door.

leechlines. not sure wether these should be added, but you know those ropes you see attached to the left and right sides of the sails on old paintings? those are leechlines. they can be used to lift a corner of the sail too, although the clewlines might be used for that as well. the clewlines are added already anyway, except on the fore-to-aft sails.

then, there are of course ropes running from the bow to the bowsprit. please, correct me on anything concerning this, as i want to know this correctly.

just a little helpful tip: the higher the rope is attached to the mast, the further aft it is tied down on the belaying pins.
