Baron Raymondo never go into a port

Yep, you always seem to catch him on the sea, never on shore. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I caught him in a tavern once. What happened was that I had just defeated him, went to Cumana and danced, and the daughter gave me a clue that Raymondo was holed up in...Cumana! So I went to the tavern and fought him there.

I've never found him on land... But I don't have a lot of time to play, unfortunately. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> Wish I did. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I caught him on land once too, thought he'd give me the whole map because he had nowhere to go to... I was wrong. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

I defeated Raymondo near Cartagena yesterday, and after that I sailed right into Cartagena because my ship is in terrible condition after a fight. And guess what? RAYMONDO WAS IN THE TAVERN!....So I got the next piece of map easily.

You can try that.

You CAN catch him in town. He always stands still for some seconds in front of the harbour (you can't attack his ship in that moment). Just enter the town and you will be able to face him in the tavern.

Certain characters, I believe, have definite "routes" and the computer knows their location at all times. Other ships (such as merchants) are spawned and destroyed at ports (or even on the high seas).

Thus, Raymondo doesn't spend long in Taverns . . . consider how long <i>you</i> spend in port - a day, maybe a little more?

A few nights ago I fought him outside a port, when I visited the Tavern I fought him there also (first time it's happened), then the game crashed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I never met him insinde a town, but I guess, when you receive news that he´s holed up in one, and sail there pretty fast, you can catch him in the tavern. When he´s travelling arund, he certainly stops in towns for two or three days (some seconds on the sailing map), before he leaves. But I´m not entirely sure if you can catch him ashore when he does one of these short port calls.

The only times I have caught him in a tavern--twice--it was when I was already in the town and I got a clue that he was "holed up" in the same town. The first time it was a clue from a governor's daughter after a dance, and the second time it was from buying a clue from the mysterious stranger in the bar. Both times, I talked to the barkeep and then fought Raymondo, pretty much like fighting a wanted criminal in a tavern.

I always talk to the barkeeper first, maybe that´s a mistake.

But anyways, why would I want to fight him in a town, if I do, i can´t capture (and then sell) his ship.
