B13 quest bugs

Exactly. A command like this closes a door (exit l1 in Redmond_town_01):

locations[FindLocation("Redmond_town_01")].reload.l1.disable = 1;

and this one opens it again :

locations[FindLocation("Redmond_town_01")].reload.l1.disable = 0;
 
We should be able to just add two of those lines into a dialog file somewhere, right?
 
Starting in different Islands now makes it easy to get to QC, get stuck with Nigel, have to make the trip to Oxbay before it's liberated, and get stuck with a broken Nigel quest.


Has anyone tested Nigel to see that the complete quest does work?

I sure can't anymore.
 
I never played it. I agree it should be tested. And I don't think anybody actually thought of that when enabeling QC as starting location. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Do you consider getting a treasure map and having the quest still be active ..even though you did not find a treasure or just got scammed a bug ?

There should be a way to determine if you are on a valid hunt or not..some indicator..( aside from a chest fulla GOLD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ..) ...ya know ? This way maybe it could reset ...and you could get a valid map later ?

I find this one of the more FUN aspects of the game BTW.

Also if you dont have cash for a map the only option you get is to tell the guy ..ITs too much...it causes him not to offer it again if you come back with the money..like after selling ships and cargo...KINDA sucks to find out he just calls you bucko and walks away...maybe a line of dialog to say " I need to find some cash " ...or something to keep the guy active ?

Or will the game generate another one eventually anyway ?

basically is it possible to eventually find all the treasures in one game ?

How about for the scam maps..will you ever be offered a real one ?

Yes. The game randomly generates these quests. You might actually get treasure map A, then you go find the treasure. Then you might get the same treasure map and find a treasure yet again at the same spot. Hi Petros, I am currently playing the Nigel Quest and am currently at Douwsen doing the Dock Battle. Nigel to easily gets KIA because his skills are way to low for the standards set for NPC in game, He gets whacked on Shaggy Gary's corvette with the new large cabin which spawns numerous opponents, I woked around that problem to find same problem at Douwsen at Dock Battle, even with a good sword and surrounded by two of my officers with me in front, he gets whacked.I will work around this problem,and continue quest,when I'm finished, I will post proposed changes and fixes fo Oxbay problem and increased starting perks for Nigel <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
fred bob is a bit low on HP. especially for his level. artois voysey isn't really someone you would keep as an officer. maybe his stats should be increased a little?

I thought Fred Bob was originally intended to have a relatively HIGH HP! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
Would be nice to have Artois Voysey and Rys Bloom a be made more useful in the game.
 
fred bob has 96 HP at level 22. (when you first get him) i would have about two and a half times that by then.

I use Artois and Rys because most other officers have too much experience, I've made it so that I only get 1 skill point per level up and 1 ability point every other level up. That way, it adds to the difficulty. I used to play on Swashbuckler too, but with those changes, that became a little to difficult, so I stepped it down to Adventurer. I don't get Fred Bob until I am way into the game because otherwise, his stats overrule everything.

Perhaps Nigel can be given the Toughness perk and even some Good armor.
Also, perhaps the amount of cargo could be reduced so it is easier to do even if you have a small ship.
I'll have a look at the code for cargo run if no one else get's to it first.
