AOP Brig

Good observation, SeaNorris! The AoP Battleship3 indeed uses the PotC deck.tga for the masts, while it should use the AoP desk.tga instead. desk.tga and checker.tga are the real AoP files and you can use those. I am going to fix the masts for the Battleship3, Manowar3 and Tartane3 to use the right AoP file. I hope to indeed include the AoP ships in Build 13.5. I am also working on making a webpage with a list of ALL ships in my current game, so you'll be able to see it all there as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
Edit: Fixed the masts in my own game version now

While on the side topic of crew (Lo_man), this is not related to the skins but the models.

I played with re-sizing them to better fit the decks/cannons/doors of the ships I use.

I made them 12% smaller and I think they look fine on all the ships from Gunboat, Barque and Yacht all the way to Caravels, Fleuts, Corvettes and Frigates! Only on the Galleons do they look small, but not tiny.

I can't test this on MoW's, Battleships, Warships, and such But in my case I don't need to.
If they are too small for those ships, you can still use them in the early game when you use smaller ships and switch them out in favor of the Builds larger "Lo_man" versions for the larger ships.

Anyway, I'll post them on ftp.
Make sure to make back-ups of the original ones first, before using these.

Here is what they look like on a Frigate.

That won't do any good Petros because i ain't growing any larger when i get bigger ship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

keep in mind though that the scale of the tartane is now way too large. try checking. it looks almost as if the crew should be two thirds larger for that ship.

Should we put those shrunk crewmembers into the Build or keep the ones we have now?

Keep the ones we have ..please. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Vikings had a lot of different ships of different size anyway.

Sailors are just 12% smaller. That's not a lot. And compare them to the Forts and towns you see from sea : that's still too big from that point of view. No, I like Petros change. However, the tartan boat does look a bit weird - but I would say the problem is coming from the ship itself. Ingame we have a kind of tiny fishing boat, it's not at the right size compared to other ships, and it's mostly used as a lifeboat when you sink. (although tartanes could be up to 30m long. I'm wondering if this Mediterranean boat was much used in the Caribbean... same for the chebecs).

That's the part when i say like Colonel O'Neil says: FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

PLEASE! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> if you do add it in the game just PLEASE! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> make it toggleable, because i don't really
like the change what Petros did! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" />

It is impossible to add a toggle on those resized sailors just like it is impossible to change the models for different ships. So I suppose it should be an additional download then.

You matey, seem to be the loudest mouth on this, and what you say is frankly, just plain jibberish.

Well, the current ones don't look right on all ships either, so I'm not sure what you're thinking either.

What is it with you and Tartanes?
The currnet Lo_man make the Schooners, Sloops, and other fine ships look like "longboats"

I wasn't going to answer, but what the heck!
You've got one here who just doesn't like them, but can't explain why.
Another can't decide but really like Tartanes.

If they are of no use, don't use them.
I'm not asking to replace anything. Frankly, I'm at the point where I really don't care.

Like I said, they are more useful, for the smaller ships one uses early in the game and could probably be used as an alternate set.

But, "an additional download"?
The zip is only 32 KB! Why have people searching for them?
If they can be of any use to anyone, then put them in the Build in a separate directory, with instructions how to copy and paste, along with the current lo_men for backup purposes.

"Get me out of here"

I did some heavy editing of this topic to move off-topic conversation to a more appropriate thread. Otherwise it'll be pretty much impossible to find relevant discussion again.

<!--quoteo(post=222201:date=Nov 19 2007, 04:38 AM:name=Petros)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Petros @ Nov 19 2007, 04:38 AM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->But, "an additional download"?

We could even add a Batch file in the main directory to do the whole switch automatically. I admit I hadn't thought of that. Good one! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

The reason I proposed an additional download is not because of the filesize, but because when it's listed on the main Build download page, people will actually see it. Now if we hide it away in the Lo_man folder, it WOULD be included in the Build, but nobody would actually know about it, therefore nobody would use them. Even if it is mentioned in a ReadMe somewhere, who really reads them? I wonder how many people there are who wouldn't even open the main game directory and thus would even fail to notice the Batch file that could be added there. Ideally I want to make the modpack in such a way that regular player won't even HAVE to open the main game directory, but the installation will do everything automatically and all relevant settings can be changed ingame. If we were to manage that, many people would fail to notice the existance of your mod altogether. Which I think would be a shame.
