Any thing for a Photoshop Guy

Hello everyone! A friend gave me this game and his account on this forum. Said he never used it. Anyways, as the description says I have experience in Photoshop and own a copy myself. So if you guys can think of anything that could you some Photoshop skills, let me know. I'm interested in learning the ins and outs of modding this fun game.

There's a lot of things that could be done.
Usually everybody here just mods what he/she wants, but if you'd like some suggestions, we've got plenty. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Of course I'd like suggestions. Photoshop by itself is not a handy mod skill. I'm looking through the forum for information on custom flags and perhaps sails. That I KNOW I could do, though from what I understand the flag on your ship is determined by what nation you're sailing under.
 
As for flags and sails, we don't really need those.
At the moment there can only be a certain amount of flags in the game and we've got many sails already.
There's even lots of sails floating around on the FTP that have never been added.
Pirate_KK is working on the Different Flags mod that will enable different sets of flags for merchant ships and in different periods, but that isn't working well yet.
Also Thomas the Terror already made flag sets for when that mod is done. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

What we could use a new Build 14 main menu image to replace the Build 13 lady image.
Perhaps also a new image you see when you start ENGINE.exe.
That second one is something I originally made with Photoshop and I'm not even good with that program, so I'd be looking forward to you making something better for Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

There's no need on worrying about flag-work being replaced. Soon the Different Flags mod will be done and working and there'll be three (navy ships, merchant ships and forts) different sets of flags used per period, with about six periods in use at least. That means there's PLENTY of place to add a whole bunch of different flags all over the place. As long as they're appropriate, of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

It is replaced in the temporary personal flag files of Build 14 Alpha 8, but when the Different Flags mod is done, I'll be sure to re-add your flag as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Ah yes, it is in Build13 Final!

I have so many modded files I had to go back to the <b>original</b> "Build13 Final" files to check.

Unless of course one will be able to choose which flag set one wants to use :p
 
Since we're talking pirate flags, I'm hoping we can use both at random for different ships with perhaps some additional flags as well.

Something like that, yes. Tomorrow I'll try and write up a short list of image files we could use.
And we could use some comments from members on what they'd like for the final logo and banners and main menu and loading screen and such.
 
Well I made the logo up there so feel free to use it.

And yes, if you guys gave some idea about what you'd like for the splash screen and the menu background, I'm sure I could oblige.
