anchor & rowing boat

Cyberops

Landlubber
I have managed to ad a animated working anchor to the corvette, im going to add it to all ships as it's really fun to see. Took us a lot of work.

Also we managed to get a rowing boat to work and animated, now we are making it that when your moor that you will end up in the rowing boat, and then you row to shore there you will enter the normal way as you would end up with mooring. Except now you where rowing there which is more realistic and very much fun to see, now i tried to moor with an enemy ship nearby and my rowing boat was blown to peices and i ended up swiming, yes swiming is also enabled in some way, we are still modifying it all but we will keep ya'll informed.

Cyberops, you the man! Looking forward to every new addition.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

rowing boat would be a cool feature!! great idea!!!

But it would be also fantastic, if you could stear the rowing boat by yourself....(that you can roaw where you want....)

already working on that admiral, simply i also want the rowing boat to be available in the following cases.

1. Mutiny on board and you get put in the rowing boat.
2. Your ship goes down but u manage to escape with the small rowing boat.

and some other options im trying to get to work.

So this means we can play with the "little man in the boat"? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> Sounds great, never been able to find him before <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Great!!

Try to follow up that post with a come back or follow through......hehehehe

Anyway, I have to ask Cyberops this question.....

Do you think your Rowboat addon/mod would work with the POTC game or build......this sounds like something you have done yourself, but is it driven by something in AOP's game engine that POTC lacks....always afraid of these next answers!!

It is just something I always thought would be great to have, but no one ever was able to answer one way or another....at least in that forum

Yes it's something that i have done myself, i created new animations, a new model, and had to create 2 new modules to place in the modules folder and to answer your question yes it could be converted to POTC i would have to make a different module for it but that is something that can be done, i used some of the modules we use for our own game pirate simulator to add to this game. For those who dont know what pirate simulator is, it's a new game my company is developing using the galaxy engine, u can compare it to aop and sid's pirates made into 1 game with a lot more other functionality, now sometimes im taking a few small things and make it possible to use in AOP just like i did with the rowing boat but im also making some things specifically for AOP, the models someone else does simply im more a coder/programmer and im not so good at the graphical part of it so we have special graphics designers for that. But basicly when making new modules and new animations a lot of things can be added to this game.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Cyberops, you da MAN!!

I'm looking VERY forward to this next version of the SuperMod.

Also, your pirate sim. Is that one of those things I would need to get logged into your companies forums and get known by the devs to have a chance to help alpha and beta test? Hmmmm?

Anyhow, looking forward to more chats with you as well as discussing possible mods for AoP.

One last question or suggestion. As you figure out what is going on in the .ini files and .c/.h files for the game, are you actually adding comments and stuff so future modders can learn from your work? If not, why NOT!? Get the heck on it and start commenting!!

Thanks matey.....If you ever get the hankering to create that module...that would be swell....I would really like to see this innocnet enough but really grand Rowboat work in POTC.......

Actually my idea was to take this one step further and have a bunch of AI generated rowboats, sweeping back and forth in Ports, to simulate activity and traffic.....even the regular Guard Boat with Soldiers.....

You have just made this one gigantic leap in the right directions.....

P.S. I have installed your mod and I am ready to play AOP for the very first time........when I tested loading the game...it came up at the bottom.....Supermod...1.2 I think....!! anyway question....later on, at that other site with your mod forum/post (Hooked ON Pirates).....you mentioned starting the game with your Supermod icon...do I use this icon that came with the patch or just use the normal AOP icon....do they both do the same thing, or does yours change something......I have never gone beyond loading screen but will tonight, if I hear back from you one more time....

Many Thanks Cyberops......Great Work

You start the game with the icon that came with the mod.
The start with the supermod icon gives u the choice which music u want to play during the game.

No as for testing Pirate Simulator no u do not need to be a member on our forums, our forum is more of a small community that think of each other as internet family and it's a cosy place where it's all fun and talks, exchange of ideas, and our members get special software we make such as our own free virus scanner, browser, optimizer and such.

Now if u like to become a beta tester or alpha tester for pirate simulator i recommend keeping an eye on the pirate simulator site.

As for a small preview i added a few screenshots from pirate simulator.

Oh.... No WAY!!! Those CAN'T be in game shots.... Just can't be. Those are from Pre-rendered scenes, right? Tell me I'm right.

Either way you look at it Holy Moly Batman! Thats some wicked looking pirateness.

the pirate simulator looks awsome cant wait to see it all in action the ships an water look very real hehe looks like something i could veg out in front of for hours hehe

No they are definatly in game screenshots, however please take a note on it that it will need some serious hardware to get the quality u see in game but even the medium quality settings is stunning. We are currently working on the islands and adding the kompass and other information needed on the game screen, but for screenshots we always turn those things off so the ships come to their right.

As for the area it will cover the entire spanish main and a little bit more with expansion plans later down the road.

WOW!!!

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

There are no other words needed.....and we are playing with what????? Age of ...something....mutter mutter.....Pissants!!....no thats not it.......mutters some more...Parlay....no no thats the movie.....utter mutter

The pirate simulator looks outstanding. To satisify my curiosity, what kind of serious hardware would be needed for the best quality?

yowzer cyberops, what engine are you using for this? looks great

Nice "concept art", cain't imagine a ship model wid studding sails an' booms! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />
