An ambitious project

I installed directsail and the quest locations are in Battle Rocks again.

Thursday, I'll release my build version.
 
Today, I played the entire Bartolomeu main quest and it is stable. I even improved this main quest compared with the Alpha 8 one.
I also installed the fixes for the :

- Inventory screen
- locked door at Falaise de Fleur tavern (Escort the Oiseau quest)
- Toughness less overpowered
- Map screen

At the moment, I didn't finish the idol quest (this quest with François l'Ollonais and the infiltration mission at Isla Muelle).
So do I release my build over the next days without this quest ? Or do I wait and include this last quest, but the build will be delayed until the end of this month ?
 
Personnally, for having François L'ollonnais, and more great stuff, i can wait a bit <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
 
Ok, I will delay my build 15-20 days to include this quest. And, if Pieter wants before this date my main quest for his update 4, I can send him my files.

New stuff for my build. Now, I have the possibility of working for the portuguese navy. I also made an unique ship for them.(modified corvette)
During the expeditions, a navy soldier will even be your officer.
 
Very cool, Bartolomeu! That's an interesting hull/rigging-combination on that ship!
You're doing an incredible job adding more variety and interesting stuff to the game!

I thought not to install any AOP location but I wasn't satisfied with the original Havana port. Not enough impressive...
From now on, with these walls and forts, the town makes a good impression.

I also 'opened' in the port many houses + usurer house + admiral residence.

Now, I just need to finish my trade of captive soldiers at tortuga + the idol quest (already installed the Curacao quest locations in Douwesen seeing i don't use the new islands).
 
I really dislike it. You forgot to give it the lighting textures <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
 
That's the same model that CCC used for Antigua. Should we reuse that? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I think so, seeing Antigua is using the old model. By the way, anyone owning AOP could show me some screenshots of Havana port ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />


And could you tell me how to install the new font used by the alpha 8 questbook interface ?

I made a mistake in my previous message. There is no Cuba in AOP. But, if there is an another <b>fortified</b> port in this game I could replace these one I installed.
 
What don't you like about those original Havana? Doesn't look Spanish enough?

This AOP location is<b> just</b> for the port. The rest of the town is like the Alpha 8 Havana. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Maybe Thomas could re-texture this AOP location to harmonize the location with the rest of the town. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
This version is "the Spanish Main Period" and Havana was one of the most powerful towns in the Caribbean. So, I still think this town deserves something impressive. But if you want, I will send you a version with the alpha 8 Havana port.

Otherwise, Have you got an idea about the font for the questbook ?

First, about the font for the questbook :<u> I want to install it</u>. This font is much better than the original one.
About Havana Port based on the Redmond port with a spanish texture could be a solution but we need to add something else to this model. Maybe Capitan Caceres could help us if he succeeds in adding some buildings into POTC.
