I love what you are doing this is sim , its fantastic. I know there will be bugs and I don't mind, I've found a few on my travels.


I took a job from a Trader to deliver a shipment to another Island, now unless I've missed it the quest does not say what you are to deliver. Ok I know looking cargo and it should be right in front of you, but it would be nice to have it as part of the quest log.

Anyway when I got to the store on the other island, no matter what I did I could not talk to him about being there with goods for him, I looked through buy and sell and anytime I tried to talk to him he said he was to busy. I sold the good <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />


Anyway a few trips between the islands of Oxbay and the one due west of it can't recall the name but after about 4 or 5 trip back and forth to build up some cash buy in one selling in the other the game now crashes. It can crash as soon as I try to get on board or if I do when I try to dock at the other island.

You can get stuck in the walls and at times on the paths in the jungle , though jumping to another location usually works but there was one where I could not and had to restart.


Quest or mission, though you can ignore these after taking them or forced to, I don't like the fact that I have to talk to someone before I can leave an area and I can't get into the pub or store or whatever until I pay the begger money to talk about the Gov of and then go to him to be forced to take the task of getting info on the french.

but as these a free mods well hohum!

well up until the crashes now going into port in Oxbay , the trader one where I have a goods for him and can't get him to take them its playing well.

Just had another go at docking at Oxbay , engine.exe crash again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Well, I know that the cargo transport missions from the traders were always buggy, even in the stock potc game. Sometimes the game tells you to go the wrong island and then you have to visit all the islands to try to find which is the right one (by talking to the merchants). I get around this just by not taking the trading missions at all. I do all of my trading on my own and it is usually smuggling. Most of the money I make though is from plundering ships.

If your game is just crashing now, there a couple of things to try. First, go into the potc folder and doubleclick the "runme" batch file. One time my potc wasn't working and this fixed it for me. Otherwise, the only thing I would know to do is a complete reinstalation of the game and then the build. And this time don't do the trading missions.

It may not have anything to do with your problem, but if the video card heats up too much it can cause a crash. I only offer that because your post is new and I have no information on your computer specs or possible hardware problems. I hope you get it fixed though. Its really a different game with the mods... as a matter of fact, my stock copy wont even start without the mods. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Well I tried the b14a7 and could never get it to work so I use the b13-full and it seems to run ok..then I installed the b 14a6 it has a few bugs but works ok

what do you mean EVEN in the stock game? that had way more bugs than build 13 update 3. anyway, are you selling the goods to the shop owner or are you talking about business to him first? if you have the goods, and you talk to him about business, the option should come up to give him the goods. it can be a little unclear what you should do, but you shouldn't literally sell them to him.

The other games I have don't crash, well that is expect for PES6 but I have been told there have been problems with ATI and PES. The other are Lock On .flight sim, Grand Prix4..F1 racing sim, Silent Hunter 4 .. Sub sim, Tiger Woods 07 , Frankie Dettori Racing ..Horse Racing game and all play all day if I wanted with no crashes.

well it's either the video card being too new, of the wrong type, or it's simply the crashes that have always been there.
