Solved Advanced Interface and Flags Code (and much more)

Screen shot attached

I get the thing about not having enough money to buy your stuff but it seems to me a little inconsistent with the drive for more realism in the game, i.e. higher level potions not for sale, books instead of jewels for skills, to give merchants access to the town's money for their private business, which is completely unrealistic. Just saying.

The books are fine and a real positive addition.

The realistic potions (bandages) are also a positive addition.

The echo I heard outside on Guadeloupe it was unrelated to any and was : quality and service are yours, monsieur.

On pirate coast guard we could also think of them trying to steal your contraband for themselves.

Also I am not seeing any flags on islands. is that supposed to be working. :dance

Thanks. I made a note on the To-Do list.

They always did use the town gold for goods transactions; now they do for items too.

That is not what their dialog suggests, so if we'd want that we'd have to make it match.
As for enemy ships at sea, if they'd want to steal your contraband goods, they'd be a bit late.
Anyway, I dropped the pirate coastguard toggle when I simplified the code related to the coastguard; the old code was inconsistent and somehow caused CTDs at times. :facepalm

Which islands? I know Bonaire, for example, never did show a flag on its fort, but it has been like that since the stock game.
Most other forts have them though. I know San Juan, Marigot and Cartagena do for sure.

I finally made it to Nevis and visited both towns. At the Pirate town there were only 2-3 townolk wandering around, but other than that it was fine. Oh, no talor standing by the gate.
At Charlestown there were people wandering around and there seemed to be plenty of them. The street merchant did not have any other characters stacked with him either.

Assassin storyline, 1665.

Do you happen to remember what time of day it was. Howell Davis only shows up during the day after, 10 I think. He was there for me. Did you have any trouble with Voysoy quest?

In Charlestown there 5 street merchants and some do have the stack and some don't. See attached.

Hylie,

Forgot to attach this to the previous post.

You are right flags are fine. We can get to Cartagena now?

About the boarding issues. I have a thought. It seems to me that when you board the game generates a certain of boarders for both sides. I don't know but I assume this takes into account the numbers alive on both sides, morale, etc. but when you go to the cargo hold fro example in most boards in which you are not outnumbered badly, you have three plus yourself and your officers they have three. I noticed that they guys who are doing nothing are extra to the three that are active.

So I wonder if there is an error somewhere where the numbers are generated, but they can't engage because the program that governs the action doesn't recognize them. :keith

Jason: I am not playing the standard storyline (1751) but the Assassin storyline (1665) so it might be period specific about the street merchants. I only saw the one street merchant in your screenie and he was ok.

I rented a room for the night and came out and did not see him. No Voisey as he does not appear in 1665.

Pillat: I talked to one and he gave me the standard answers for the pirate town. I talked to some in Charlestown and they all wanted to sell something.
I did talk to a girl in Marigot who gave directions. I was attracted to her by her bad animations. She looked like her top half did not fit her bottom half.

No missing town at sea? Or swapped teleports when going from shore to sea?
Indeed it seems my town swap wasn't the cause for the trouble. Still don't know what is though. But then I didn't look into much of anything today.
Enough is enough and it seems it has been enough for now.

Oh, no talor standing by the gate.
I just checked in Assassin and he's there just fine. First time, another character was generated at the same spot though, making his face look weird.

FIVE of them? There is only one defined in the code and that is the only one I saw when I went to check.

Just sail to the Colombian coast and you can. :yes
Town isn't entirely finished though; no usable buildings yet.

Somewhere in that complex code rewrite must be an error. When I get round to it, I'll restore it to Beta 2.5 state.
It used to work without such weird stuff, didn't it?

Charlestown street vendors.

1 by shipyard
3 right off the walkway as you come in the town
1 buy the store
1 down the hill from the town hall.

Well i just chose some random models. Dont have a model-viewer.. But it seems that some of my citizens disappeared -.- can anyone confirm that? In the main locations of the towns should at least be 2 citizens with dialog.. Sometimes 3-4, spmetimes just 1

I didn't add the ones in Tortuga, because there were already several characters there using the "QC citizen_dialog" file. So I just changed them to use your file instead.

Are they always there? Do they always look the same? Do you use the crewmembers on shore mod?

Always with stalls and every thing. I always use the crew members on shore mod.

Perhaps the crewmembers mod is putting those additional characters there, then?

If you want to know for sure, send them all back to the ship, reload the location and see if they're still there.

Things found last night.

There was this green fellow wandering around Willemstad.
skeleton.jpg

There seems to be a problem with the pennants, at least with this flag as they are white. I forgot what a good ship the Caravel is.
white pennants.jpg

It seems I have forgotten how to change flags in game. I would like to change my personal flag but can not.

the green fellow is a citizen :D :rofl
that proves at least that my citizens are working^^
if you don't want him (I think you're more the realistic players) I just change him to a man-model. Would require a new game.
I don't think this is too bad, was just a little 'easter-egg' from me :D

Ya, I have no use for walking talking skeletons outside of the fantasy storylines, but can ignore them.

The girls with their legs not moving as they walk and gliding over the ground is much more disturbing to me.
