Slavery is part of the SLiB Mod and is an integral part of the Archipelago's economy, however probably the best feature regarding slaves is that you can recruit them as part of your crew. In my current SLiB game I avoided trading in slaves and was always setting slaves free at port if they were taken aboard a prize ship (must be something to do with my Australian convict ancestry <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> ). However I soon discovered that you could recruit them into your crew to make up for battle casualties which can often be quite considerable. Now when ever I take a slave trader as prize I can make up my own losses and fully crew the prize, and when I return to port all the rest are released free (I don't trade trade them).
Slavery is indeed distasteful to me in the highest degree...disgusting, however, as others have mentioned, it was an important element of those times. My views on the morality of this issue dictate my actions (if you follow me).
On the other hand I totally understand the reticence in including this in the Build.
Cheers, mates <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
