A_S New Residences add on?

Zander

Landlubber
I was reading Warrior's post about having problems with captureing greenford colony and read about this "residences" add on. So I look at the ftp site and finde the "A_S New Residences" folder and copy it. I can see that I should probably copy the "residenceX" folders to the "resourcemodelslocationsinside" folder and the textures to the "resourcetextures" folder. Is that all I have to do. Is there anything else required to make this mod work? I didn't see any readme or anything like that with it. Seems like I would need to make the game recoginse the additional models and textures. Or did I miss something completely.

Thanks

Like you describe, I copied the respective files to the folders you've mentioned.

To be honest I managed to "find"some locations but it is hard to say (at least for me) if those residences are from those files. I was trying hard to finish the main quest and then to look every island and every house.

Sorry not to be able to give you more info <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Oh, I see, thanks. They may just be there to be available for someone if they want to add them to their mod. I would be suprised if just copying models and textures into the appropriate directories would activate additional rooms. I'm pretty sure there's some coding involved that to some primary file that determines the town environment.

Anyway, thanks fo the update. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> .

For what I know, this folder only contains the resources for the new residences, but doesn't have the code needed to actually add them to the game. I don't know if it is already possible to get this mod to work in the game; I believe Alan has not officially released it yet and it is still a W.I.P. Hope this helps you...

A work in progress, that's right. I'll be expanding some governor's mansions eventually, but I only put those up for CCC's benefit; too big to email. They need deleted till I'm all done with the release... I can add to the FTP, but it won't let me delete.

Thanks a lot for that. Sorry that at the moment I am a bit preoccupied with getting the SWAK going.
While it may be easy to make mods work on one's own computer it seems like publication is becoming increasingly difficult with all the different versions and mods floating around.

By the looks of it, the RESOURCE files for this have once been on the FTP. Does anyone still have them by any chance?

i think CCC might have removed them when the FTP got renewed and he cleaned everything up.

Got me going there for a while.
I thought Smithee was back until I read the last posts and then looked at the dates of the others.

Anyway, I never picked up those files, so don't have them.

I saw that Alan Smithee DID visited the forum only a week ago, so he's not as gone as we might think. We just need to get him to post/reply to PMs again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
