Yes. Akella never really had the responsibility to market the game, that's true... They just did the development.

I think it was a botched job because of the rush Disney put on the whole project. The sin of it is, they actually put the game out on the market, and many of us bought it at $40-$50 each, hoping for Sea Dogs II and instead getting a really buggy mess that was nearly impossible to play.

The mods make it so much MORE! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I'm really glad I found this site and the Build - and okay, even glad I learned to mod, LOL! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I have only done a couple of mods for PotC - I painted up some new skins for characters, made a couple of new characters with the headswitching utility in Inez's TOOL, painted up a couple of ships, made the Fred Bob Quest (my crowning achievement, thanks! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" /> ), have done a couple of bugfixes including the overhaul of the Animists Quest, and hung around here offering a LOT of encouragement and maybe some new ideas to the other modders. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> I only came onboard here in time for Build 10.1 and did not do any REAL modding until February of 2004. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> So it's not just me... Please... A lot of very talented (much more than I!) people took part in making these mods - and I have only made one small (and I would like to emphasize <span style='font-size:6pt;line-height:100%'><b><u>small</u></b></span> !) portion of the MIGHTY BUILD.

Currently I'm bugtesting, but when I get back into modding I want to finish my Sneaky Trader mod, and expand upon the "help the lady" quest (second part of the Fred Bob Quest)... And maybe do something about the "Kato-style duelist" idea I have... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
