I have been somewhat a hobbyist for game development though I haven't produced anything significant.
My forte is 3D and GUI development. I have 2 years experience programming in actionscript and 1 year in the flash IDE. I also have a web design background though that is not applicable in UDK but can be useful in design GUIs. I've been using Maya for about a year now with skills coming from using blender for about 3 years, I was using both of them to test out some game engines but all were for just testing game mechanics for a hobby project I'd like to do. Also I've settled in UDK as the game engine I want to do my hobby in as it's like a middle ground for unity and cryengine in my experience.
In the programming side, I'm not really sure if it is acceptable as I came from Actionscript, though I did learn to program some C++, C#, and Java though I left them after a while of using them. I've just started studying Unrealscript this month and it kinda bugged me I didn't try to learn it sooner as it's really useful now that I've studied some mechanics instead of just relying on Kismet.
I'd like to help develop this game! It's been a long time since a really good pirate game has been released. I'm not sure if I could be around 24/7 but I could pounce in like 2-3 times a week since I'm attending classes.
P.S. I'm up for the idea of including some One Piece elements in the game! (If it's not game breaking or anything
)
P.P.S. Will this game make the character be more maneuverable than the AoP games? I didn't feel like walking around the game after playing for a while, instead I just sailed and sailed 'cuz it felt more natural.
