High Priority Levelling: Some Captains Not Correctly Initialized until Too Late

Captured Captains who become your officers loose reputation rapidly and you cannot get it back - hence your overall reputation must drop - This may not be a bug as some reputation loss for an individual who turns traitor to their country would be expected - but not to "Horror of the High seas" level
 
Build 14 Beta 4 10 Jan update.
Captured ships get full hull and sails when going to the capture screen - nice but a bit of a cheat.
 
I understand their morale changing due to a difference in reputations.
But their reputations themselves changing rapidly I have never heard of before.

It IS my intention to rewrite all sorts of reputation stuff soon. But I was planning to do that after the Beta 4 public release.
As imperfect as that system may be as far as I'm concerned, I don't think it was truly broken. Was it???

To be certain, is that "ships around an island" (Coast Raiders) or Worldmap Encounters? Or both?
Sounds like some more stuff is being reset than is meant to be.

This didn't happen before, did it? What was the previous version that you played?
Do you have the "CTD preventing sea.c" installed? How about the latest "Levis Fixes"?

Also: Are you using any non-default settings for your game?

This is a new thing. I will put Levis's 12 Jan fixes into the game and see if this makes a difference.
 
This happens now on all captured ships as far as I can tell. I will install Levis's 12 Jan fixes and se if it is resolved.
 
I just captured two British ships in the 10 Jan install and they both stayed beat up until I sold them. I have noticed pirate ships get fully restored except for crew for many months now.
 
I have noticed that when you loot captured ships both your ship and the capture appear to have max hit points and sails sometimes but when you go the shipyard the damage is back.
 
Does anyone have any clue when this weirdness started?
And what is the simplest and most consistent way to replicate it?
 
Update: In the 10 Jan. version I captured a FWzP. The fort did most of the fighting. The Captain surrendered to me and agreed to become an officer. But he came completely unequipped. He had nothing!

The ship was heavily damaged in the fighting but after I took her she was completely repaired.

This is true. Not for my ship but when I went to the shipyard the FWzP needed very expensive repairs when graphically the ship was fine.
 
Does anyone have even the slightest idea WHEN this started happening?
As in: A specific date where it started. Was it a week ago? A month? Three months?
Any sort of timeframe could at least help narrow down the potential culprits.
 
I noticed it with pirate ships months ago. Never noticed it with other ships until just now, but I don't capture many ships at all.
