wind is...broken?

i've logged well over 15 hours now, and i've noticed something very annoying,t he wind is ALWAYS blowing west, as in in 15+ HOURS its never blown east, not once, it'l go northwest, southwest, west, but not anything east. after looking at a few different forums i've noticed some other people having this problem but no one seems to have a solution or even know if everyones being affected..anyone have any ideas?

Uhh....that's called the Tradewinds, which always blow west in the Caribbean....I tip my hat to Sid and the gang for keeping it accurate! In real life it's quick and easy to sail NW from say, Barbados to Jamaica, but very arduous and long to sail the other way round.
It's not annoying....it's nature! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

Actually, I think it's a realism thing. I'm not sure if it's right, but the chances for a wind blowing to the west is about 99,99% sure in real life, isn't it? I mean, to the west there's a huge continent, to the east there's this huge empty sea. The wind is more likely to go in the direction of the continent.

Oh, and it was like this in the original too. Going to the east in the carribean is always a bit slower than going to the west.

This makes things fun to plan. Take a heavy fleet loaded with big square riggers and a couple sloops and move west along the Spanish Main, sacking as you go. When you get to the end, sack a town into submission, install a friendly governor, sell off your ships, (and keep the sloops - which sail much better into the wind) and sail back home to divide the plunder. Of course, you have to figure out what to do with all the sugar you have aquired - I like Curacao for that sort of thing <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Glad to hear the wind realism factor has been kept in mind, geez i can't wait to receive my copy.
