to tell you the truth there are not a lot of pirates in this movie, but anyway its a fantastic movie, and there are a lot of excellent fx´s too.

Tigre de Malasia,

Welcome to the site! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I think someone started a movie thread in another forum, but it was for all movies, not just pirate movies, so why not?

I really enjoy that movie, <b><u>The Golden Voyage of Sinbad,</u></b>, myself, I saw it when I was a kid and I think I have a copy of it somewhere about.

One of my favorite pirate movies would have to be <b><u>The Sea Hawk</u></b>, but I think you should expand the thread to include swashbuckling movies, and in that case I would pick this film:

My favorite Pirate Movie would have to be either "Captain Blood" or "Pirates of the Caribbean"

Also, someone did start this thread before, ME. But my thread was in poll form. It's alright, this is better anyways.

"Treasure Island" with Charlton Heston as Long John Silver. OUTSTANDING movie which follows well the original book - outstanding cast, Christian Bale as Jim Hawkins...

<img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/TI_box2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
It was `non-theatrical` - released on cable here - TNT - back in 1991.

I wrote a nice review of the movie for PA!... There were other reviews done too, wonder where they ended up? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Yeah muntiny on the Bounty, or master and commander, while neither is a Pirate movie both were very entertaining

<!--QuoteBegin-Rabiddogg+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rabiddogg)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I would have to say Yellowbeard.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Arr!

We Yellowbeards' are never more dangerous than when we're dead!

Love yellowbeard, too bad noone else has ever seen it, and it's been out of circulation since 1987.

Wish they'd bring it to dvd...

Koor and DeCuervo,
In spite of the great cast in Yellowbeard, I was disapointed when I first saw it, I kept wishing it was funny, or at least funnier. I think it was a great idea that just didn't pan out. Does have some funny lines though...

I think the funniest moment in the movie is Peter Cook saying, "I'll give you a penny little girl..."

This link has some soundbites from the movie:
