How come when I'm friendly with the Spanish then I attack a lonely Spanish Merchant in the middle of the ocean, the Spanish now hate me.....

Things shouldn't work this way :x . The nation shouldn't change it is relation with me because I sunk a ship flying it flag . How the hell they know about what happened in the sea ?? The ship is sunk , the crew are dead or eaten by sharks , my crew didn't betryeded me so how did they know about it .
