What time period do you play in?

Just curious what people's tastes are, as far as what time period they like to play in (or what one they actually play in).

Can someone be nice and tell me which countries rule in every time period?

I chhose 1620 bcause of the treasure galleons. But then again they don't seem that much beter than normal galleons.

This is interesting. This is one point I like to talk about with steriotyes and time periods. Most of the ships that I have read so far that are used in this game, weapons, styles, and other things are used in the 1660s to 18th Century. I am amazed that these guys are doing what Sea Dogs and POTC did. Example, the Flintlock Pistol and Musket are not in major use until 1660s. Another example: Sloop, not in major use until 1670s, Frigate, in moderate use by 1700. But I think this game is still good due to it covers many things SD, POTC, and so on didn't.
