What Other PC Games Does Everyone Play?

the latest MCF games don't work on my rig. the latest one that works is Ravenhearst, and that's the best one of the first three. magnificent atmosphere. really started to creep me out near the end when those ghosts' voices started to become really frequent and i figured out what they where saying. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

i've got HoMM III. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> that's an oldie, but it still does the job just fine. i'm getting better at it.

right now i'm sucked into Escharon. that intro really is impressive. simple, but awesome sound and gfx. it definately makes you say 'wow' the first time you see it.

Sucked into? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Tell me if you need a vacuum cleaner to help suck you out. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

you said the same about Aveyond 2. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Ever tried The Fall: Last Days of Gaia?

AH! Yes I did, now I remember. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

God i have no life, i just found out that it took me 67 hours to finish KOTOR II and I have been working on it for about two months.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

didn't try it yet. what kind of game is it?

ooh, i'm having so much fun with this. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> i'm starting to figure out a good formula for a starting character. you have to have at least one point in light armor, one in shielding, one in chartography, one in lock picking, and an offensive ability, like magic, archery, or a melee type of offensive. i'd pick swords. they're the most likely weapon to encounter early on. these are the essential skills for a basic fighter. without chartography, the mini-map doesn't get registered. the more points in chartography, the more info you get from the map. without any of those armor or offensive abilities, equipping a weapon, piece of armor or shield of that type will give you a penalty in it's effectiveness. if you have the skills, your survival chances get much higher. lock picking is obvious. in fact, you need it to get to quite a few important items.

i've been unsuccesfull at alchemy so far, but it's fun. first time i tried the mixture blew up in my face. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> randomly mixing stuff: bad idea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> i also discovered the formula for a healing potion, but when i tried it out it made a rather unimpressive *WHUMP* and created a cloud of blue smoke. funny, but i turned out i hadn't selected alchemy as a skill that time. i plan on learning it soon. something else has also sparked my interest: i found two of the ingrediënts used in gunpowder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

It's a post-apocalypse strategy game - hard as hell to find nowadays. They never did release an English version <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . The fans put that right though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> .

Speaking of freaky game moments - ever been impaled up the ass by a lance before? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> My M&B character got it up the butt an' out the mouth <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> . The idiot seriously needs better armour <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> .

maybe i'll give it a look. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

ouch. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

don't you just hate it when you poke you head out of your tent and there's this giant poisonous lizard grinning back it you? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> happened to me once. three of the buggers. that was hell.

Poisonous lizard? WTF?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

yyyyup. biggest annoyance i've met so far. also met the ever-present moving slime blobs. now THOSE are annoying in groups.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Oooooooookay then! I'll just pretend I don't think you're insane <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I don't think If I want to check that rpg game what Morgan is playing.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Tell me what races you can play with and I might change my mind if there are playable non-human races. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Anybody still playing Oblivion?

I just finished a mod I overlooked for the last 2 years "Kvatch Aftermath" and it was one of the most satisfying mods I've added to the game ever. I am now the Count of Kvatch, and have my own domain.

Better than Battlethorn Castle. As good as Blood and Mud (original).

Just started my next mod #68 Verona House Bloodlines, looks good.

<i>Still playing Oblivion</i>? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Hey! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I haven't even played it yet because of the lack of proper system requirements! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

I used to play it more when the computer liked it better <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . But, that was back only when it first came out, so I didn't have the chance to play any of the mods. I've never even completed the main quest <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . I'm thinking on installing it again after I get done with the last exam for Science <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> . The only mod I know of for the game is Slof's Horses: <a href="http://www.slofshive.co.uk/index.php?page=modarticle&modarticle/id=598q2mbi9zs" target="_blank">http://www.slofshive.co.uk/index.php?page=.../id=598q2mbi9zs</a> , which apparently gets rid of the stock horses' lifeless eyes.

well, you can't play any non-human races, but you can define a huge amount of stuff for your character. i think that there's 25 different classes you can pick. there's five selectable human races.

those monsters i mentioned are only the ones you meet at the start though. they get beter later on.

i've misjudged the combat system. apparently it's turn-based, but you hardly notice. however, it gives you a huge element of tactics which makes it very interesting with multiple opponents, as you can use light sources and terrain to your advantage. it's also possible to become a sort of ninja, as i found out. if you train a lot in perception and silence, your foes will only notice you until it's too late. with high perception, you can see way better in the dark and won't need a torch. this means the enemy can't see you properly in the dark, but you CAN see them. the high silence is pretty handy for picking locks in towns where you don't want anyone to see you. it's even more fun when you've got a ranged weapon.

Morgan, what game are you talking about?

I looked for "Escharon" and cannot find anything named that.

Help me out here...

@Stallion, the mods for Oblivion keep this game the best video game ever made.

Yeah, the latest shooters are cool, and some of the...well, RPG's (hmmmmm) have approached the graphics of Oblivion, but the modders of Oblivion have taken it to a level that have made it the never ending game.

I'm just gonna wait for the next Oblivion while I keep playing this one.

sorry, it's Eschalon, not Escharon. my bad. you have to pay for the full version, but i naturally found a way around that. there's going to be a sequel where you can apparently play as female characters as well. it says so when you select 'gender' in the character creation screen.

i found out that you don't have to pick lockpicking at the start. you can also bash the object with your weapon by pressing the left shift button. needless to say, there's a chance of breaking it.

woot! i'm now using a bow alongside my sword. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> now combat has really gotten badass. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> you can also use throwing weapons, but i prefer bows. you also seem to be able to flick a switch or trigger a trap from a distance by shooting at it. it's awesome.

meanwhile, i've become a really good thief. you can stop someone from hearing you by standing still for a moment. i make sure he can't see me by standing behind something. then i use a skill (forgot what it was called) to try to detect if the chest i'm trying to open is trapped or not. then i dismantle the trap with my skullduggery skill (handy, but if you screw up the whole thing blows up in your face <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" /> ) and after that, i pick the lock. i haven't been able to steal everything yet, but i'll be getting there once i get better at hiding in the shadows. something that was kinda funny was that i was nabbing all the torches from the castle while the soldier was escorting me to the captain. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
