- WHERE the blaze is the Patriots & Emperors mod's files? Or the main install, if theres any(I only found sound files at the potc@piratesahoy ftp, nothing more on another ftps) I really want to try out those hard working lads Napoleonic era world.

- And : what an earth is the Directsailing? I heard (read) someone mentioned it, but I never found any info in mod 13 readmes. Does someone FINALLY made it possible, to start sailing from one port, facing the right direction, staying on deck, and arriving to the shores of another , while never changing into map view? Im really curious-

Yes, DirectSailing enables that, but with following restrictions: islands are in 'cells', so one can sail from Oxbay to Falaise de Fleur, but in the open sea the reload is necessary. To enable reaching to Redmond from the south, Battle Rock were added - that's small "abandoned" island player can't land on (in real world that land doesn't exist).

BTW, I'm sorry for those credits - I'll fix it at first opportunity.

if you want to sail from cuba to tortuga, you need to sail in the direction of the island in comparison to the island where you are at that time, not in comparison to your ship. i've once ended up at antigua in stead of QC because i didn't know this sailing from isla muelle.
 
Hmmmmmm.... Eeeee.... What do you think about adding alot of "aliby" cells like this battle rock? Sargasso plant floating around, static elements of shipwrecks, etc. As I understood, this make you possible, to sail without changing into the map. So maybe just making some cells, like they describe in the old maps "there will be monsters", "there will be a maid in a rock" to making cells called like: "Albatrosses" "realm of the sharks" (lots of sharks there) or "Whale pack" (someone really should add whales) or "sargasso" (or some other similar object <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) or "Haunted waters" where you have a slight chance to encounter the Flying Dutchman sometimes, etc.

- Whats with the Patriots & Emperors mod? wont found on the three ftp's, only sounds.

By the way: really nice work. I played a whole evening and night with a fresh install and mod 13 and its 3rd update on top of it, tryed to test what I can, and only had 2, or 3 CTD's but those seemed random, almost sure its not related into some exact file, just a memory handling fault by the bit overpushed storm 2 engine. Most stable mass-mod I played in POTC-
 
I like the idea of some zones with sinking ships, where you can encounter davy jones, and that you have to sail for your life.
 
yes, quickly in and quickly out, or else! i like that idea! but is it possible to make a location-specific ship encounter that only happens rarely?

you might want to try build 14 alpha 6. it's stable enough to be enjoyable.
 
The Patriots and Emperors mod is not finished. It seems that progress has mostly been halted. Most P&E content has made it's way into Build 13 or Build 14 Alpha 6: almost all seperate ships and character skins. However, there are a lot of ships and character skins that overwrite existing ones, so these would need to be made seperate first. There is an improved Napoleonic flag pack available made by Merciless Mark.

In DirectSail mode, you can sail from island to island, yes, thanks to the great CouchcaptainCharles! There are two versions of the mod: Cellmode and "Accurate" mode. Cellmode is default, because it works the best. "Accurate" doesn't work with the cells, but the voyages are much shorter and sometimes you end up inside an island for some reason. The proper DirectSail version is only in Build 14 Alpha 6, if I remember correctly. There is a completely proper ReadMe for it in the buildinfo folder. If the ReadMe isn't there for you, you don't have a modpack version that includes the DirectSail mod.

You can't stay on deck in 3D walking around mode; you must be in sailing mode, whether it be 1st person or 3rd person sailing mode. Also: There already ARE random events during the DirectSail. You might encounter friendly or enemy ships, floating cargo, abandoned hulks or other surprises. More surprises can be added. These events are not cell/location specific, but are completely random. No need for making seperate cells for this.

I want to add it into the mod13 update 3 version of my potc. Still need alot of checking before I move to 14 And besides, I want to check taht mod all around, to see how it works, which is abit hard when its already implemented with alot of other content-

Check the FTP. A Build 13 compatible version of the file DOES exist; it might still be on there. Otherwise PM CouchcaptainCharles for it. If anybody can help you with it, he can.
 
Yep, I checked FTp <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> and PM ed Couch Captain Charles already ! In ftp: ftp.pafiles.com with login: potc@pafiles.com , and login : build@pafiles.com I only found one dir of CCC, and the directsail were none of it. I only found the realistic Caribbean mod, wich contains it, but tahts for installed mod 14 I think. Anyway, its wont have the needed modifications in certain files, so I cant use it. Im waiting CCC's answer for the PM, Im sure he can help. Thank you, Pieter! I hope you enjoy the duty onboard -
