TWEAKING SHIP STATS

Oldtimer

Master Mariner
Hi all,

I would like to tweak my ships stats in a savegame, how can I do that?

And on a general note:

- from what I know, tartanas shuld be faster than they are and clearly the best upwind of all ships in game.

Regards, Oldtimer

After breaking savegame will be many many bugs. Your path to the Bermuda dockyard.

Upwind are well luger and sloop. Luger available at the beginning of the game, the sixth class.

Hi,

I know that. What I want to know is what historical evidence you have for making tartanas worse upwind that these two types. AFAIK tartanas popularity and longevity was because they could escape ANY sailer upwind.

this is possible actually if you can figure how the shipyard tweaks the ship the one in burmuta tweaks ships btw

if you find that il tell you how to add it to the f11 menu

Start a new game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

How do you make new ships available from the shipyard? And how do you make it so that the new ship is unique and doesn't have that random stat generator (have you noticed that ships you buy from the shipyard allways have different stats?). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

Cap`n Hawk,

thanks awfully. Speed seems to increase, but upwind I tried with both 5 and 15 and the war tartanas I get still oscillate around 7 points of sail regardless.

There is one more line for determining upwind performance, lower down with bool a factor added.
Maybe it should be tweaked also?

Hello <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />
Not sure about "refship.WindAgainstSpeed = 8.0;//boal",
but try "refShip.fWindAgainstSpeed = 10.0;" change to 2 and see what happens. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

to Deep One.
go to program/Scripts/"shipUtilites" file this line,
"if (iTest_ship == 2) FillShipParamShipyard(NPChar, GenerateStoreShip(SHIP_SLOOP), "ship3")" and change it to
"if (iTest_ship == 2) FillShipParamShipyard(NPChar, GenerateStoreShip(SHIP_XebekVML), "ship3")"
and start a new game , see what happens, before you go to shipyard save game, you may need to try a few times
before ship will be avalable in shipyard. In ships_init file there are more ship names you can try.
To take "random" out of ship stats is more involved work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Cap`n Hawk,

thanks for your attention. Tweaking upwind to 2 gives points of sail in the range 7,5 - 8,0.
Tweaking to 1 gives point of sail below 7,0???

So there must be something else that influences point of sail I`m afraid. IMO a war tartana should never have point of sail below 10 and that is what I`d like to achieve.

Regards, Oldtimer
