Things I haven't released yet

It is the site that does it. I get some sort of "Do you want to install free system scanner" pop up thing. I only ever get it when looking up screenshots of yours, but only occasionally. I don't think it has to do with spy/adware on my computer. I recently reinstalled completely and don't visit strange sites or anything.

it happens on other sites too. it only happens once in while on those sites though, not every time.

OK. That will happen with ANY free image host - as advertising is the way they make their money. I never see any of them because Firefox blocks most all pop-ups/pop-unders/etc.

I don't mind advertisements so much, but this is really intrusive. I never saw it from a site like PhotoBucket. In any case: Just thought I'd let you know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I put all Kevin's ships in my game now. Works fine so far. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Needed to start another full 14.7 game with those ships, running fine until now .. and will test the cutter again, the last test was also in my 14.7 full installation.

I use "Spybot-Search and Destroy" and it blocks all those tracking cookies.

I thought those navy ship skins were going to be used in the "Emperor's and Empires" mod.

I guess this build can't be considered 17th century anymore.

It seems that progress on the "Patriots and Emperors" mod has pretty much halted. I have heard no updates for ages. So rather than not use these ships, we just stick them in. A BuildSettings.h switch in ships_init.c that turns off Napoleonic ships would be pretty easy: We just need to add a couple of if's. That way you can use these ships in your game if you want or disable them if you don't want them. We also have the Napoleonic soldiers skins in the game and they already have a switch on them. Personally I am beginning to like the Napoleonic setting more and more, but that's probably because of reading the Hornblower novels. Idealy we would incorporate gameplay eras so that the game starts out in the 1600's and progresses slowly but surely to the Napoleonic age.

<b>FEAST YOUR EYES UPON THIS MATEYS!</b>

I have finally managed to get my own cabin in game!
I have made a special black cabin for the Pearl:
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/BlackPearlCabin.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Barbossa:"So I will be standing on some beach with a name while I see you sailing away on my ship."
Jack:"No, you will be standing on some beach without a name, and I will shout you the name when I sail away on MY ship."
Barbossa:"But that still leaves me on some beach with only a name with your word that it is the name of the person we need."

LOL

PS I also have my depp texture tweaked a bit. Less dark and higher boots.

looking good! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Very nice! Sure looks better on my laptop than it did on the school computer I checked this thread on earlier. It looked completely black there, but now I can see the detail. Very nice job! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

I put this Black Pearl cabin into my game version and it works great. In my unreleased test version, adding new cabins to ships is really easy. Now the cabin used by a ship is simply defined by a line in ships_init.c so you can set the cabin you want for each ship in this file. To add a completely new cabin, all one needs to do is to add the model and texture file, add an entry in PROGRAM\Locations\init\ship.c and update the ships_init.c cabin line. When this is done, the new cabin will even be used in the tutorial. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Why the heck i have not noticed this? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> this is just WONDERFULL! that each ship should have its own textures for rooms/decks/cabins. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

And actually i think that every ship type in game should have rooms/decks/cabins matched with ship model because it would be more realistic then. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Why have you not noticed that? Because it is not in any released modpack version. The ability to set a ship's cabin with one line of code is only in my and Pirate_KK's personal test game versions. It will be in Alpha 8 once it's done. This allow the cabin to be set for each ship seperately, rather than it being set per class. In theory we could then make a seperate cabin for each ship, but this is a lot of work and will indeed make the download huge. Rather than doing that, I would recommend just choosing the most appropriate cabin for each ship out of the cabins we have and only making new cabins for those ships that really call for it, most notably the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman.

And maybe a nice Cutler Beckett style cabin for some of the rich decorated ships <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Meh? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Yea sure it makes it BIG but not THAT big ..i think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Alright it would be something like 500-900 mb but HEY!?! i'v downloaded that big files before for
Battlefield 1942/Half Life 2. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

I think that we have almost reached the 1 GB now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

well yeah, but not everyone can do that you know. not mentioning the fact that it wouldn't even fit on my harddrive after i've installed everything up to the latest alpha. (WITH removing now unessesary installation files)

the game, with all the mods, is just under 4 GB. that's pretty darned big in comparison to the stock game. i'm for the dutchman cabin, of course. i have an idea to make it much higher than any cabin now in the game.
