I have been Hoping that they put the Kraken in the POTC Build mod 14 alpha 9 or make a mod where you can get it in the Game that would make the Game more cooler, think about it the Kraken i wish that they can make it for the Game.

one more thing where i can find or get the Flying Dutchman i have been looking all (Holland) Dutch ships or its it the Pirate ship can i buy it from somewhere shipyard

She's unavailable for purchase by default, but you can set CanBuy = true in PROGRAM\Ships\ships_init.c.

As for the Kraken: I did think of something that might be possible. If we can make a good that looks like a tentacle, we could have those goods generated around the ship and you take damage for each good you "take". It'd be far from being perfect, but it could be done. Having an actual animated Kraken for the player to fight is, I think, impossible because of game engine limitations. Though I have been proven wrong on such things before, so I'm not saying it ISN'T possible.
 
hmmm, i have a friend wich have greate tentacles, and we are going to use them on davy jones... maybe a kraken..
 
i've seen that kraken animation. i think i had already expressed my thoughts on it too.
 
well, there's was SOMEONE who had made a placeholder animation for a kraken fight. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> was never made to fit the game, i think. nor a kraken model.
 
I saw it too. But he never released it, and I remember you replying to his questions <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />.

Beckett demanded that Davy Jones had to kill his little "pet" so he couldn't use it against the EITC. Davy had to kill it himself, which hurt him very much.

Perhaps this is somewhere that this "hand of God easter egg" could be utilized.
 
good idea. would most certainly keep the player on his toes, being under the impression that the kraken is near. but i think we would get complaints that the player can't see the kraken or something. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
The hand of god message is triggered when a ship is sunk by any other reason than being attacked by someone. How do you propose using this for the Kraken? Simply replacing the message, so that when a ship is sunk in a storm or by hitting the rocks, it'll say "Ship is sunk by the Kraken" instead?
 
i have a nice idea. you could make a ship called The Kraken. this ship could be unique. and you could set the water line thing to go under water or something. the tentacles could be like sails or something, just to make them moveable. and you could use the same code as the original black pearl that you meet in falaise de fleur, so you couldn't hurt it.
 
pieter had an idea more or less like that. problem is, the kraken would have to touch the enemy, and ships usually avoid that, though they're clumsy enough most of the time to do it anyway. and i think cannons mounted on the tentacles would look kinda wierd. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
My idea was with floating goods as per the second post in this thread.
 
then why don't you just make a new cannon model and call the cannon CANNON_KRAKEN_42LBS or something like that? the cannon could look like the tentacles, and when it fires a shot, all you see is the tentacles splash down and cannon balls land around the ship.
 
but you also briefly mentioned an idea with a ship elsewhere. but that doesn't matter.
 
I don't think using a ship would work very well. I think that the foating goods would work best. You'd have tentacles around you and you'd get damage based on the amount of tentacles hit your ship. If we could have these goods generated randomly around a certain point, you might be able to escape if you're far away from that point. The only problem is that there'd be no animation on the tentacles, but there'd not be any animation on ships either. And animals can't cause damage to ships as far as I know, so that might look good, but wouldn't work very well gameplay-wise. And if the goods are not all generated at the same time, but after each other, there'd be an appearance of a continuing attack with more tentacles appearing over time and disappearing as they hit your ship. And by changing the number of tentacles generated in total, the various attacks can be various in their ferocity.
