The Game Will Not Save

For some reason I cannot save any games on here. Every time I do it says "saved game error." Does anyone know how to fix this or when a patch is coming out?

These Problem is well known. I don´t know how to fix it. I can give you only one tip. Check the folder in which the games / autosaves where normaly saved.
The savegames have normally a size of ca. 1 MB. The savegames are stored in My DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier's Pirates!. Check if you have enough disk space in the corresponding drive. This is a bit unusual, but check if My Documents or My Games have the "Read Only" option unchecked, as it should be.

If those tips don't work, you may as well try to reinstall the game. There could accure one error. I don´t know if it´s due to the pirates game. For some reason my MyGames file always defaults back to "read only" even after you uncheck that box, and hit "Apply". I don´t know how to fix that problem.

From the Atari forums: One person was having this error pop up all the time. Turned out the install process didn't create a saved games folder in My Documents/Games.
