which one is the best? can anyone compare and describe for me?
pirates of the caribean,sid meier pirates,port royal 2,and age of pirates and possibly some others?
i played sid meier pirates and it was very very good especially the naval battle part, but i juz hate the dancing thingy.
So i wanna try a new game

Cutthroats and POTC are the only others I've played recently, and I think POTC is all around the superior game because of the 3D, and there's a lot more to do in town. The sword fighting in more realistic, so are the naval battles, and once you play it in the Disney version, get the builds from here, and it gets even better. The only problem I have with it are each nationality only has one town, (except the English who have 2), and once you sack them, you've sacked them. They don't rebuild fast enough for me to even lie to myself that I'm at a different town. Last time I looked, some of the modders were looking at ways to expand the map, and that would be great.
Just my opinion, but remember, opinions are like pirates. They all stink and they'll steal your rum when you're not looking.

Port Royale and `Tropico-Pirate`'s Cove are pretty nice pirate games. They are less swashbuckling and more economic/resources games. In fact, Tropico is really more a builder game. Both are good for wasting a few hours...

POTC is pretty rough unless it's modded to the hilt. The interface is about an `UN-intuitive` as you can get. But for the content fans out there, it's interesting.

Sid's Pirates! is easy to play, easy to learn and a huge time consumer. It's a classic in terms of game design and fun factor. It's not the most realistic thing and can sometimes be repetitive - but repeating fun over and over again is not a bad thing!

Hard to compare the two as they are so different. You can get POTC dirt cheap, so I'd say pick up both of them. You'll definately enjoy Pirates! and once you mod POTC, you might find something you like in there too.

I thought Cutthroats was pretty clunky.

And dancing is the least alluring part of Sid's Pirates for me too, woopy. In the current method I play, I simply dismiss every invitation-- It sucks so bad!

Don't put down the dancing so much, guys! In the end, it iis rather easy to learn and becomes a nice addition to the game.

And, believe me, I was absolutely the worst dancer when I began playing and I thought I'd never get better. But now I have become adept at looking at the ladies' hands and recognising the gestures so that I know which button to press. It also helps to learn the patterns that you usually go through...

The part of the game that truly IS a pain is the sneaking. I've tried it only a couple of times and there's really no point to do it, whatsoever... So, I just sact the towns that I want to enter...

Problem is you can't sack every town, sometimes you don't have enough crew. So that's where sneaking becomes mandatory if you wanna `check-out` the town. But I agree, it gets stale after the first try.
