System Specs of the Beta Testers

Ahoy! I was just wondering about the system specs of the testers machines and any problems they may have run into getting the game to run (if any) on their hardware setup. Hopefully this will not violate their NDA... but I'm mostly interested in finding out which VPU it runs best on. ATI cards or Nvidia cards?

Well, I'm thinking that Firaxis wanted to know how it would run on a variety of machines and so chose people who had a variety of systems. Any reports we made concerning problems that our system was not able to handle were mostly answered by "Oh we have that fixed now, but it's just not in the release we gave you." So I think they were pretty much on the ball in that respect... At least it seemed so! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That said, my vid card is an Nvidia Quadro4 700 XGL w/64MB of DDR memory, and my processor is an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ which is 1.53gHz, and I have 512 MB of RAM.

Regardless of how "beefy" my vid card is, I've never been really happy with it... Sometimes I have trouble with my video memory backing up, stuttering on things that should run smoothly... It could be my problem lies in how Windoze XP STILL `mis-handles` memory, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> but whatever it is, it's a PITA when you're in the midst of a battle! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I have an AMD Athlon overclocked to 2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and an ATI 9600 Pro with 128MB (might be a 9500 - I can't remember). Game ran great!

Well, that´s pretty close to my own system specs. Good to know, there won´t be any problems. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I ran it on a P4 2.8GHz, 512 MB RAM and an Intel 128MB graphics card (not the best in any respect... Intel).
