Stuck in Quest: Relations

Yep this is what I meant earlier, getting close to QC without the land ho message, going into 3d mode where the only ship is your own, changing colours, then sailing onto QC, because even if your on the other side of QC from the pirates they will still show up as hostile.

Personally what I would do is get a bigger ship then just blow them out of the water, a couple of trade missions, a dungeon or two, should get enough gold for a bigger than class 7 vessel.

as i said, a gunboat will already do the trick. you can take almost anything with that little gig.

I've always changed the flag far outside the island area so it's not a problem of changing it too late. My wealth in this game is poor and reputation pretty standard. I think it's just a bug with the relations or failure to adjust relations based on the flag.

Yeah I thought it was a long shot, the only other thing I can think of is that they just keep seeing through the disguise or it is in fact a bug of some sort.

You can know if they see through the disguise: You'll get an on-screen message when entering 3D sailing mode saying "Captain, we're recognized" or something like that. That's when you know your false colours didn't work. You can then enter the worldmap and try again. Also: If you use the Sail-to menu, you can aready see which ships are hostile to you, giving you another indication on whether your false flag did the trick.

I wasn't aware of this, it's a handy thing to know, I haven't used the flag change system, my light frigate usually has the enemy running for land. played through a few times and still so much to explore, It's great fun <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

try speaking to just about everyone in town. you'll keep on finding quests all the time. also, keeping anyone as your officer often also yields nice results. your reputation can also determine your options in quests.
