Street merchant question

I was playing with the latest patch and post build mod, and came to Isla Muelle. I had basically just started out, was a level 1 character. Difficulty: Adventurer.

Upon coming to a street merchant in the middle of town, I noticed he was of "Rank 1". I looked at his wares, and he had a TON of extremely high level equipment for sale. Some reaching in the 20,000gc range???

Is this wrong?

I couldn't buy anything useful for the gold I had... not even bullets for my whimpy short gun.

If I see it again, I'll add it to the bug tracker. So far no other merchant had insanely priced goods like that one did.

When I come across it again I will. I cannot now because that saved game has long since blasted away from the countless reinstalls I have done.

If you kill a merchant, does a bunch of guards appear to attack you? That is what's supposed to happen. So that robbing merchants is a risky affair.

That's correct Pieter, the soldiers do attack you, which is why it's so much fun.

The slaughter in this SS started because I felt compelled to attack a Street Merchant & I had a ball for an hr or so just slaughtering soldiers & civilians alike.
