Sometimes during the game my pirate, and other characters, will turn silver. It doesn't really disturb the gameplay, but is there any way to fix it?
 
...i had a clever (read smart-ass <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> ) answer but decided against it (and apparently they don't allow you to delete posts)...anyway, everybody and their brother is gonna say something about video drivers but to be honest, never heard JUST characters turning odd colors and not other things being distorted as well...good luck
 
Yup... I think that problem is quite well known. And it is about the video drivers. You may not have enough video memory to handle the most intricate effects. Try to lower your graphics settings, especially the shadows and the other setting the name of which escapes me, but not necessarily the main settings.

You may also want to try to upgrade your video drivers to the latest possible.
 
wolf (or someone) tell me this if you know:

the game won't run without DirectX 9.0c right? if the game launches that means his video card/drivers support the latest version of DirectX so shouldn't they be ok? seems "the latest drivers" usually cause more problems than they fix. and i agree, too little memory in the card could be the issue.
