As most of us already know bigger poly meshes and OBJ format dont go in pair ,since obj cant handle anything with big poly count.
As my tutor subject i choose the bousolle (one of the bigger poly ships )

as can see this is what happens when u port it to obj and import i to ur 3d program,here is where tool come usefull
(if ur 3d program can import vmrl files then just skip the below steps )

[attachment=4567:2.jpg]

open the desired mesh in tool

[attachment=4568:3.jpg]

go to edit scene

[attachment=4569:4.jpg]

delete some of its contents and save it as a backup (repeat this for every mesh beeing part of the original gm.file

[attachment=4570:5.jpg]

open ur backup in gm viewer and port it to obj

[attachment=4571:6.jpg]

import ur obj.file to ur 3d program

now ur ready to do some editing :urgh

Thanks a lot! :) That's a good one to know :D

But I was wondering?! What a about the editing on the deck in that case, and do you convert all the stuff back + the additions, such as wheels, anchorwheels, figureheads ect...?

Anyway, thanks a lot already :)

:dance

That obj problem was one of the main reasons I wasn't modifying all locations on 100%...

Will try it out ASAP

Beautiful! Thank's, and how i can use the textures in the 3d modellig program?

When i've converted a file, for example the "bounty1.gm" to a obj file i open it with a rinoceros but i have only the model, not the textures...
