Greetings all!

Some of you may know me already as a member of the 3D steering committee at PotBS and creator of several ships in that game. I just finished my model of HMS Centurion 1732 and went to upload it to their FTP but it was down. -.-

So! I'm wondering if you folks would like to use it so four years of modeling gets to be enjoyed by at least someone! :) I've also got a few other models to offer. How do I go about submitting models to this mod?
 
That sounds great, mate! Just upload the files somewhere (you can use our FTP if you want).
Then hopefully there'll be a modeler willing to mod them into the game. :doff
 
I never did it myself, but we've got some people and tutorials on this forum that should be helpful.

Just out of interest, what are the other ships you're offering? Any chance of some screenshots to show them off?

The tutorials around the site can vary greatly in usefulness and ease of comprehension, unfortunately. The combination of both is quite rare.

All of the programs mentioned in that tutorial can be found in the 'Downloads' section on the site.

If you come across any issues, we will endeavour to help you as much as we can, and with a bit of luck one of our own modellers may lend a hand.
 
Ok I'm uploading them to the FTP under /KrisWood/

I looked through the threads that were linked but I don't think I have the right version of Maya (I only have 2011) and I don't really know how to use the Maya interface anyway (nor do I have time to learn). I would much rather collaborate with someone who's already done a few of these so that I could handle preparing resources in 3dsmax and just export them to Maya for handoff to someone who can actually get them in game. Is anyone interested?

Centurion 1732 (British 64-gun 3rd-rate)

I've uploaded Lyon Hoy as well. La Diligente and the Medway longboat will have to wait til I can get my desktop PC from my parents' house, the files aren't on my laptop.

Sorry for vanishing for a month after offering to help. My new job and parenting are keeping me a lot busier than I'd hoped, and then my laptop died. I've got my desktop working again now and will upload my remaining two ships but don't think I'll have time to learn to modify them for the game. If anyone would like to take on importing them I'd love to see screenshots once they get in!
 
No worries, mate. We completely understand, everyone has his own personal life. Don't worry - somebody will definately refit your ships for the game as they are really great

I went and looked on your FTP server and I can't find my /KrisWood/ folder where I'd uploaded Centurion and the Lyon hoy, did something change? :(
