Ships extremely jittery on water

Hey y'all,

not sure if this is a bug, but it definitely doesn't seem intended either - the ships are extremely jittery when sailing, quite annoying to go in first person. It feels less like a ship and more like a car driving through an extremely bumpy road made of gravel.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

This occurs when you have the time compression on - i.e. try sailing with time at X1. The higher you go X3, X5, X10 or X20 the more jittery the direct sail is.
